Arise or Beneath the Remains would have been better to label the classic sepultura i think... But what the hell...

I rate this among my favourite albums of all time... Arise or Beneath the Remains are probably more Sepulturish (?) but the overall sound and song structure on Chaos A.D makes it one of the most complete metal albums in history...

I bought this album ages ago and hardly ever listen to it. I don't get it at all... Just all mid tempo monotony. Have to say I'd rather listen to Morbid Visions.

Would agree on this album, but if thats all you have with Sep I strongly recommend Beneath the Remains, the only thrash album to match the great quality of Reign in Blood. If Sep had done this album before slayer did RiB (even though they couldn't possibly, since they were inspired by RiB but anyway), they would have been the kings of thrash.

Arise is the best Sepultura album in my opinion.

This is an excellent mix of old and new Sepultura! It's a perfect balance. They went downhill after this one, but this is definitely great!

Well you and I are never going to agree about this one, so I'm just going to leave it at that.

That's fine. I'm not a big death metal fan, thus the earlier stuff doesn't appeal to me as much.

Chaos AD was the album that really allowed me to get into Sepultura. I do like the early stuff, but it's just so all out death metal sometimes, I have a hard time hanging on, you know? Unfortunately, Chaos AD was a short-lived experience because Roots was OK, but just not all that good...and then, of course, someone set the controls to SUCK.

Chaos A.D just so happens to be my favorite album. Ever. It walks the fine line between Sepultura early thrash/death metal with Roots' downtuned, nu-metalish riffs (that's not intended to be a criticism). :D :D :D

It's not nu-metal. Have we discussed this before?
