Except for the Misfits covers.. I have always liked Metallica's versions better.. and yes I've heard the originals, which lack proper production, speed and are a bit sloppy. Hetfield, however, just couldn't top Danzig no matter what he did.

Misfits are great, I should really buy some stuff (even though I only like Danzig era Misfits)

The Michale Graves era is really good as well, even if it is quite poppy.

American Psycho is a fucking awesome album! "Dig Up Her Bones" is the best Misfits song ever.

Yeah, Metallica's version of "Breadfan" kicks ass!

Really? IMO the original version by Budgie is way better, you may not like it though, since the vocals are very similar to Geddy lee's

Great review, and Budgie is an awesome band. I think my favorite song is "Panzer Division Destroyed". They're a really heavy band, and proggy enough to be called quirky......but they're still heavy, which is most important.

Not quite.. but it is still highly enjoyable.

Didn't mean to diss the originals, it's all classic stuff, and both Budgie and Diamondhead are awesome.

Also, I thought the issues around this subject were dealt with very well in the review.

Better production that Danzig era.. but not better songwriting.

All the Misfits eras were fabulous. I love that band, through and through. Dig up her Bones is great, but Descending Angels is my favorite.

Yeah that song is great.

Its a shame that Project 1950s album sucked the balls.

one question : do you like the Metallica covers of DH's songs ? if you do, make sure to get that album 'cause Metallica are no match to DH in their particular style ! 8)

I have to say,i like Metallica's covers better than the originals;these songs sound better imo with Hetfield's kickass rhythm guitar parts, this guy is the king of rythm guitar.
