I just want some to tell me why the bands I mentioned aren't Power Metal but Strat is? Jeez......is that really that hard. If you are going to shit on me for what I said at least tell me why?

I learned long ago that sarcasm doesn't go well here. Maybe people are too serious, too sensitive, I don't know. Use smileys, they say. It doesn't always work, but if you say you're joking after not using a smiley you'll be told you were serious. Use a smiley and they can't say SHIT when you say you were joking!


To me, power metal is fast, double-bass, over the top lyrics and choruses, etc. Bands like Brainstorm have far more in common with bands like early Metallica and traditional metal bands, even more on the thrash tip. The word "power" shouldn't be taken so literally, I'd say.

It's hard to tell when somebody is being sarcastic over the internet. I'm one of the most sarcastic people on this planet during the day, but I don't want to come off like an ass over the net so I use it sparingly.

As for power metal. I'd say Strato are power metal b/c of the speed, guitar solos, and the uplifting POWERful choruses. Most bands fail to capture the POWERful parts of songs and become stale. That's why it's so easy to find copy cat bands. As for your description of power metal, well, you're entitled to your opinion, but the majority here and everywhere else will disagree with you.

I think bands like Grave Digger and Brainstorm fall under the same category, just with a more aggressive edge.

Grave Digger isn't Power Metal because they have a severe lack of homosexuality in their music. Stratovarious and Edguy have enough homosexuality in their music that they could cover the world in it twice. That's why Edguy and Strato are Power Metal and Grave Digger isn't.[/sarcasm]

Leee only speaks nothing but the truth to me..... he is right that true metal is largely underappreciated here anyways apart from a few posters. I remember reading Brocas Helm being called mediocre here even... fucken metal blasphemy that is.
