Listening to the songs it's obvious that the new Heavenly will be the only album living up to expectations this year.

Goddamn! (Can I say that in this thread?) I don't remember this band being so heavy! I only own Coming From The Sky—which I apparently got for $1! Badass!—but I don't remember it being that heavy. I'll have to listen to it today.

The beginning of this songs sounds like Halford's "Resurrection."

Hell yeah, this is definitely heavier than for example Dust to Dust (killer album btw). I think i'll be picking this up when it's released. And I agree about the intro, when I heard it I immediately thought of Resurrection :)

The website (http://www.heavenlyf.fr) has been redesigned and amped with more contents. There are several mp3-clips from the new album as well as a video for the song "Spill Blood On Fire".

It should take a month at most. I'd look into that. Does it usually take a long time for stuff to be shipped to South Africa?

Yeah Phase 2 is OK but there is a serious lack of good metal cd shops around here, as you should know. Do you always order from overseas or do you download? And which clubs still play metal, I know the Nile Crocodile but where do you guys hang out, and gig?

Heard the new album for the first time just now..........................................................

It's dull, uninspired and gay. Four albums and they still can't convince me they can release a killer album. I've never liked Ben Sotto's vocal delivery and Virus isn't going to change that, because he sound exactly the same. Actually that can be said about the album as well...it's exactly the same in sound as the other 3 but there is nothing catchy in it. It's power metal goddammit. Some songs are trully heavier than what i've used to hear from this band (Virus, The Power And Fury, Wasted Time) but are completely ruined by the use of the annoying gay choir. Speaking of gayness, track 8 (When The Rain Begins To Fall) is a cover of a famous song done in a very gay metal way. I was trying to remember who originally did this song but i couldn't. Usually on first listen i could very much tell which songs have potential but Virus have none of that. I'll just say that people who liked their previous releases will like this one too. I personally like it less than Dust To Dust.

If Pyroman hates it, I will love it. I don't understand it we both like the same genre, but I can't stand what you like and you can't stand what I like. Anyway, really looking forward to this.

Weird huh, i find myself asking the same thing recently  . I guess i'm just getting bored with the genre or some of it. New releases from Lunatica, Luca Turilli's Dreamquest, Blind Guardian, Saidian, Heavenly, Manigance, Rhapsody, Fairyland, Thy Majestie (heard it recently), Wuthering Heights, Rage and Axxis left me in complete boredom and thinking i should give myself a long power metal break. On the other hand bands like Adagio, Altaria, Cloudscape, Dark Empire, Evergrey, Falconer, Kiuas, Mystic Prophecy, Pyramaze continue to fuel my desire for more.

The genre is so vast that it's not so strange for power metal fans to like different stuff. And stop whining about me not liking your precious Cellador.

I asked the album the other day what it's sexual preference is, and I can confirm that the album, while being an inanimate object, somehow categorized itself as homosexual. And now, some words that might actually give you an idea of what the (gay) music sounds like.

The song that I had posted earlier in this thread was a rough copy. The album sounds a little less heavy (but still heavy), but this allows the synths to have a slightly larger presence, which in my opinion are done very well. If you enjoyed 'Land of the Free' from Gamma Ray, you'll definitely hear some influences bleeding through. The musical performance is improved from what you heard on the last album, and Ben Sotto's vocals are aging like a fine wine. I feel he's improved his range and power noticeably. However, if you didn't appreciate his approach before, chances are you won't now. The songwriting is where this band shines, and while some of the songs stand out among the others (Wasted Time is definitely my favorite so far), I find the entire album to be incredible, and getting better with each listen.

So in other words, the album is gay. If you don't pay attention you might find it having sex with other albums of its ilk.

I had never heard heavenly before going to their website and hearing the samples...and THIS only happened because I happened to notice DragonForce's current bass player used to be in heavenly. Anyway, it sounds pretty good to me, and I just got some birthday cash, so I know what I now must do...
