Well, I've never heard any Coheed & Cambria girly singing on any Into Eternity album yet. On this one there is plenty of Halford worship, but nothing that sounds like a valley girl singing after taking a bong hit of helium like that tard from Coheed.
And there are no nu-metal vocals here. What do you mean?
Well, rather than debate over whether he (they?) sounds like the guy from C&C, I'll just say that there was a lot more high pitched singing in BiO, and IMO was reminiscent of (but not exactly like) C&C. Screaming was used very sparingly, and growling frequently but it seemed like the clean vocals dominated. Now, screaming and growling dominate with the clean vocals taking a back seat, and usually only appearing in choruses. I actually think the screaming is a lot better than it was on BiO--I thought he was a mediocre screamer and am glad they limited the use of it. I'm not really saying that one or the other is better, just noting the change.
Now, as for the clean vocals being nu metal, I was just noting that they had ditched the high-pitched vocals and replaced them with something that I think would not be out of place on a nu metal song. But, the vocals are still very good...the lower-pitched vocals are growing on me as I listen to the CD more, and now I'm starting to doubt that I like the higher-pitched vocals better. I personally think that a combination of both would kill...
