I found some links to download both shows (one in 1992, and one in 2004) where Rob Halford stepped in for downed Sabbath singers and did an alright job. Has anybody heard these? Thoughts? So far i've only listened to Paranoid, but it sounds alright. The videos are all over youtube, and if anybody wants a link I can provide them. I also downloaded Born Again and Seventh Star... |

I fuckin love it. It's such an historical and magical moment in heavy metal history. Black Sabbath are the god fathers of heavy metal. And Rob Halford is quite possibly one of the most recognizable voices in heavy metal. The combination of the two is awesome, if not for musical purposes, then just for historical purposes. |

The 1992 show is much better than the 2004 show. Both are good, but man did he sounds great in 1992. A H_T I totally agree, the combination is awesome on both the musical level and a historical level. I love it. |

Was this in incident where Dio refused to open for Ozzy? |

The 2004 show is pro-shot quality & on youtube. It's very surreal to see Halford up there singing with Sabbath. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P14eIjfinXM |

No, in 1992 Dio was sick and Rob took over. In 2004 Ozzy was sick and Rob took over. I think Rob was chosen over Dio in 2004 because Judas Priest was at OzzFest that year. |

I thought it was pretty good. I didn't think it was amazing or anything. |

I've only heard the ones from 2004. He sounded great with Sabbath. Not a disappointment at all considering his inclusion was a last minute thing when Ozzy fell sick. Apparently he made several mistakes and forgot the lyrics but it was forgivable. He is God, after all. |

He cannot remeber their own lyrics (Priest), I read he uses a videoscreen a lot while performing. So forgetting the ones from Sabbath is not that bad. |

Well forgivable considering what a great vocalist he is. |

When you think about how much music he's sung, how old he is and how he probably doesn't listen to the albums after their done recording so once he's done with the tour the lyrics probably slip from his mind. Did he even write many of the lyrics? |
