Been listening to a lot of Cannuck metal lately, mainly, as it were fron Jonquiere Quebec, home of Voivod amongst other bands. Some tasty tidbits here for all to sample. Hopefully you guy will check them out, they are truly magnificent. I disagree. I think death metal is always inferior to speed/traditional metl....and I don't really know what to classify unexpect as, but I don't like the music at all so, whatever genre it is, I don't like it. Of course these are just opinions. You've shared yours so I guess that's that. |

Deaf Dealer is awesome. I have both of their albums and they are great. Like Iron Maiden on speed. back at Heavy MTL 2 summers ago, I saw Unexpect live, they were shit. A reason why they were the opening band. On before Lauren Harris even. |

The sound is too confusing and disjointed...to the point where the listening experience consists largely of trying to figure out what the beat of the song is. I'm all for changing time signatures and rythm, but unExpect takes it over board to the point that it becomes a garbled mess of female vocals and cookie monster. Not a fan one bit, so I hope we don't ruin the thread by talking about how bad they are. What'd you think of the High Spirits and Messiah Force? |

Deaf dealer's myspace has more tracks with decent sound http://www.myspace.com/deafdealerqc Like so many bands that faded into obscurity .. seems they had great music but something was missing. |
