I fucking love Running Wild! I was lucky to catch their final gig last year at Wacken, and the turn out there was a testament to just how well-known and well-liked they are, at least in Europe.
Their old stuff was, in my honest opinion, up there as among the best of their genre. My favourite albums are probably Death Or Glory, Gates To Purgatory and Branded and Exiled. I'd be hard pressed to think of any song I didn't like or would want to skip before Masquerade. If they had ended with Black Hand Inn it would have been a perfect discography.
Probably like most fans, I'm not that fond of the material past Black Hand Inn. I did enjoy a few songs on Rivalry like the title track, Firebreather (come on, you know you have to sing along to that one
), Return of the Dragon and War & Peace. I saw The Brotherhood like the next step in the lack of inspiration. The Ghost is an absolutely epic track, but other than that there isn't much there. Siberian Winter's pretty decent, and Pirate Song is just plain fun but that's about it really.
Ok, now I seriously need to go put on Death Or Glory
