NEW ALBUM “STRAIGHT OUT OF HELL” coming January 18th from the Pumpkin Kings. What do you expect musically?

Did they fall in a heavy-and-loud pattern with 7 Sinners? Or will they go back to more mature and balanced sound like "Rabbit Don't Come Easy"?

If anyone got a preview, sneak peek, or teaser, I would be glad to hear that!

LOL I thought the same thing, based in the name of the album. Something along the lines of Dark Ride would be cool indeed. It's probably my favorite Deris album.

It is my favorite Deris era Helloween. I doubt they can do another one like that, though. My bet is it's going to be another approximation of their past grandeur.

I couldn't agree more about The Dark Ride!

Not holding out high hopes for this for the simple reason that I dislike Andi Deris. I don't like his vocal tone, vocal lines, or lyrics. If they had a different singer then maybe I would be more inclined to listen. The music is not great but its not awful. The singer, however, is.

I sympathize with your view. It took me years to like Deris.

I like Deris and LOVE Deris era Helloween. It's just awesome power metal. Whatever they do, I mean if they choose The Dark Ride or Rabbits or 7 Sinners style it will be cool. :dio:

As long as its the same quality as their last 4-5 albums, then I'm happy

I'm always surprised to hear people talk about how they like recent Helloween. I'll admit I don't have many of their recent albums, in fact I only have 7 Sinners which I picked up on a blind buy a couple of years back and I thought it was a pretty huge, steaming pile of shit. I still do. It's most certainly a deterrant against picking up others.

This is coming from a person who only owns Walls of Jericho and the two Seven Keys albums, so I dunno. Maybe everything in between softened the blow for you guys, but wow - it amazes me people consider that good music.

That's what makes us all different...all our tastes vary. You may dislike 7 Sinners, while others like myself and the others in this thread like it very much, plus the previous album going back 4-5 to boot. Everyone is entitled to their opinion

You guys heard about the Burning Sun EP? (http://youtu.be/cIck5Ff3aUc) It's actually pretty good and I got a good feeling about the upcoming album.

About 7 Sinners (and about every other album) I think there are great songs on it! Mr. Madman, Smile of The Sun, Sage Fool Sinner, I'm Free...

And you know what? I'm not ashamed to say I fucking loved Unarmed.

Well, as long as they continue rocking, i'll continue to rock along ;)

Gambling was the album of the year at MR, so I guess people like new Helloween around here.

7 Sinner's didnt leave much of an impression on me, so I hope they get away from that. The Dark Ride 2.0 would be a nice suprise.

Nabataea is a great song and a great comeback for Helloween! But... tell me... what the hell is going on with Sacha Gerstner in the video? We never see him close-up, and he has a thick beard.

The Deris era blows away the Kiske/Hansen era. And The Dark Ride is great but vastly overrated.

That said, the new album sounds great. Amazon has samples. "Burning Sun," however, is kind of a mess. From the samples, it sounds like the worst song on the album. It's just awkward to my ears.

I expect 14 layers of auto-tuned vocals.

I love how accusing "autotune" is the new insult to bands.
