Does anyone else find that Lashed to the Slave stick is in the same vein as Cannibal's Stripped, Raped and Strangled? Brutal bands making (for them) commercial songs. I've got tons of people into death metal using those two songs coupled with a bit of Bolt Thrower.

Agreed.

That must be why everyone likes those songs so much.

But seriously... I mean... fucking Sarcophagus, man! How can you not bang your head when that heavy-as-a-runaway-chicken-train riff starts off with the steady double-bassing in the background, and then, slowly growling out of the murky depths of that song...

"Who dares disturb... my blissful sleep..."

I swear it gives me goosebumps every time.

Funny, Sarcophagus was the only track on that album I always skipped... I guess I'm just too true to be true 8)

Trueness beyond truth leaves lies in its wake.

Like the idea that Sarcophagus doesn't rule.

Yep, and surprisingly, The Bleeding (despite being CC's most "commercial" album) is probably the only CC worth buying IMO.

Let that be your lesson for today, Kiddies - More commercial does not necessarily mean worse.

What of Bloodthirst and The Wretched Spawn? Those are both worth buying.

Bloodthirst is especially good.

Unas is a cool song but it's all based on a Candlemass melodic theme. Did they credited Candlemass in any way on the album?

Not on the album, but I recall they did credit them somewhere.

Sarcofagus is pretty amazing. I can't think of a song they've done I don't like in some way.
