All I have to say is Matt Barlow was awesome adn I mean really really awesome. As for Annette Olzon, She was good on the material from the last two albums but she totally massacred wishmaster.....why oh why did I have to here that !?

Was the IE setlist any good?

I'm not a huge Iced Earth fan so I don't know all their songs but the ones they played where pretty awesome.

heres's the setlist (in no order):

Dark Saga
Vengeance Is Mine
Declaration Day
Burning times
Violate
Pure Evil
Dracula
Melancholy
My Own Savior
Iced Earth
Ten Thousand Strong

Pretty cool, if they finished with the eponymous track. Fuck me, college is making me a loser-the title track.

Just came back from an Arch Enemy show. The opening acts where Firewind, Divine Heresy and Dark Tranquillity. DT's set was too short I wish they would headline a show here in Quebec in the near future. Last time I saw them they where opening for Soilwork and DT totally stole the show. In my mind there is no doubt Arch Enemy is not as good a band as DT . I do appreciate Arch Enemy as well, they were pretty tight tonight but nothing they played made me as excited as during the whole DT set list.

It's a shame isn't it? When bands like AE and Soilwork get to have DT opening for them. I hope I never live to see Judas Priest opening for 3 Inches Of Blood or something.

nope, i just thought it'd be funny seen as they obviously cant hear me, a few of my mates that went with me were gonna do it too but wimped out at the last minute, pussies...

good gig overall, machine head ruled, shadows fall were hilarious (those dreadlocks are the funniest thing ive ever seen) dragonforce sucked ass, trivium were pretty good to my surprise, and arch enemy were a bit of a let down, the guitars were too quiet and put too much emphasis on angelas voice

Just came back from gods of metal.
Iron Maiden was amazing, but that was no surprise. The biggest surprise was Carcass, holy fucking shit.

What did they play? They're only playing one UK show in Leeds and at the time I'll be in London, so it's highly unlikely I can go. Gaaaaay.

They played basically only the old stuff...
Rime of The Ancient Mariner, the Trooper, Can I Play With Madness, Wasted Years, Number of The Beast, Iron Maiden, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Alexander the Great, Fear of the dark etc only good stuff!

Haha, I meant Carcass!

Still, the Maiden set sounds sweet. :dio:

I saw Ross The Boss, Primal Fear and Judas Priest on Friday. Priest absolutely fucking ruled, and Halford was in top form. I had read comments about the man not being able to do it anymore, but it's just bullshit. Painkiller was a wet dream and Sinner ripped new holes in my body.

Then I switched location and saw a minifestival for the weekend: Testament and Kreator on Saturday, Axxis, Doro and Helloween on Sunday. All bands were great and Helloween were simply awesome, as usual.
