Death, being one of my favorite bands, have a discography almost no other can match. Was wondering how you guys would rank their albums in order? Mine are:

Human
Leprosy
Sound of Perseverance
Symbolic
Individual Thought Patterns
Scream Bloody Gore
Spiritual Healing

2. The Sound of Perseverance
3. Human
4. Individual Thought Patterns
5. Leprosy
6. Spiritual Healing
7. Scream Bloody Gore

I would change Individual Thought Patterns with Human but that is pretty much how I feel about it too.

I like The Sound of Perseverance the most. Never really listened to the others thoroughly.

Would have to agree agree but I'd place TSOP third. and higher rated.

Control Denied are very worth checking out for those that haven't heard it yet. It was Chuck Schuldiner's side project and it was just as amazing as anything he did with Death.

TSOP is definitely my favorite after that it gets harder to decide. I enjoy the middle era stuff better than Leprosy and Scream Bloody Gore though.

Control Denied is decent but it was never different enough to be anything more than Death with clean vox. New album of unreleased stuff is supposed to come out this month.

Well he expanded greatly upon his melodic tendencies, but yeah it's instantly recognizable as Chuck Schuldiner's work (you say that as if it's a bad thing?). Also yeah I'm looking forward to hearing the unreleased material.

"Sound of Perseverance" was constantly on my play-list. I had never checked out Control Denied and upon hearing it right now, I liked it instantly. It's definitely a band I had overlooked.

Which explains your love of CD. Sound is the weakest Death album in my book.

SoP is a definite masterpiece in my book. I like to know why you think SoP is the weakest album of all Death albums? Personally I think everything post Spiritual Healing is pretty much of the same quality music-wise. Control Denied is undeniably very good stuff indeed.

TSOP is brilliant. I don't understand how some can rate it so low.

I really don't know! It's most probably because they still wanted another Scream Bloody Gore or Leprosy which is really closed-minded. I think Death progressed most definitely towards a greater good which were everything after Spiritual Healing as I mentioned before.
