I'm speaking solely about Gossow-era AE, not the albums with Liiva. How well do Gossow's albums still sound to you after all these years? Do you think the Ammot brothers lost their touch on Doomsday machine, or do you believe Arch Enemy was always a one off band? Has anyone heard their newest album?

Haven't heard the latest. Haven't heard them in a very long time. I think it was around Doomsday that I stopped listening to them. Extremely formulatic and generic Melodic DM.

Love the Liiva albums but need to retry the earlier Gossow ones, actually. Can remember liking AoR and Doomsday Machine etc, always thought they wrote hooks well. The most recent couple of albums didn't interest me much at all though, and don't think I've listened to the whole of War Eternal yet. More interested in the new Agonist tbh.

About sums it up. Doomsday Machine didn't age well and that was kinda the best they did with her. I don't even want to chance it with the new lady.
