A blaze in the northern sky, under a funeral moon, or transilvanian hunger?

which is your favorite?

Blaze gets my vote.

Eheheh! 'Tis the true face of eeeevil!

Blaze, obviously. Blaze is the best, and most awesome. But they're all good; Hunger is the most out-there and black metal, I still remember what a shock it was to hear for the first time. And Moon is the most underrated of the three, but the third best of them too.

Blaze followed by Funeral Moon for me. Transilvanian Hunger is slowly growing on me but it's honestly not all it's cracked up to be in my opinion. Props to Darkthrone for releasing classics in two genres though. Soulside Journey is a death metal classic after all.

EDIT: grateful no one called me out on the obvious mistake here.

Under A Funeral Moon is the weakest classic bm DT album, with the other three being more or less tied to me at least. Also the lack of Panzerfaust troubles me :D

Haven't heard Panzerfaust. I tend to focus much more on expanding my collection by adding new bands as opposed to rounding out discographies so there are a great many bands who don't get the attntion they deserve. Darkthrone is one such band - I only have their first four albums.

Panzerfaust is all kinds of greatness and really runs neck and neck with Blaze for my favorite Darkthrone record. A bonafide BM classic to be sure.

Yeah Panzerfaust is on a par with their best, but it wasn't listed as a choice to pick from...

Yeah, funny how there seems to be a consensus on Panzerfaust. I'd rather listen to that one than anything else they released.

The riffs and music are the best they've ever done, imo, the vocals are unfortunately a little too high in the mix.
