Personally, I think this band is brilliant. Mabool kicked my ass when it came out. I was able to find The Beloved's Cry this weekend for $4.99 and I am fucking amazed that this was originally a demo cassette! If I had gotten this as a demo tape in 1993 I would have shit my pants, it's so good. It seriously reminds me of early Amorphis. A stunning little album, especially for what is essentially a demo. What do you guys think of them? |

Even my mom sort of liked Mabool... which is more than I can say than about any death metal album ever. They blend folkloric music and death metal basically as well as any band I have ever heard (except maybe Maudlin of the Well). I'll probably check out their earlier stuff once I can fully absorb Mabool |

Have you heard any of their other releases? They seem to be hard to find. The Beloved's Cry is the only other CD by them that I've come across, and like I said in another thread, it looked as if they found it buried under a filing cabinet in the backroom. It definitely hadn't been sitting in the bin to get like that. I wish I could pick up their other releases. Mabool was amazing...except for that one part where the chick just goes on that long, three minute solo chant. That's cool for about 30 seconds...then it's just too much. |

What is it with your mom? First Dead Can Dance, and now Orphaned Land? Hmm... Is she a widower? How does she feel about long-haired underage arrogant music lovers who are not above stalking? Give me a call. |

I have listened to El Norra Alila occasionally in the past 5 years and I think its a hell of an album but after the long wait Mabool was a little dissapointing. It's good but not worth the 5 year wait. They are awesome people by the way. They've had like 50 concerts in Turkey so far and they're always covering one of our local musicians songs and they always hang out with the fans after. Very friendly guys. |

the only thing that keeps me from fully enjoying this, is the biblical lyrics, since they mean nothing to me... baah... otherwise very good music ![]() |

Great music, production slightly on the good side, but still very enjoyable. I didn't like some of the vocals though... |

Still haven't found Mabool, despite frequent searches in music stores. And I am incapable of online ordering, so I'll just have to keep searching. What I've heard was pretty good. |

Zadster you big weirdo it's always in HMV at my local Leeds branch. For the almighty price of £17, however... Pretty good album though. Very original and accessible, with lots of melody. |

i heard Mabool and it's indeed an amazing album. but like Eyesore said it has that solo chant thing that is a bit overkill... i have Beloved's Cry on mp3 and it's nice... personally i prefer the sound they took on with Mabool. |
