I have only heard one song of Hevein's debut album Sound Over Matter and it blew me away! 'Worth Fighting For' displays melodic thrash with the most amazing use of cello and violin I've ever heard in metal. It not only adds to the music but enhances it.

Have any of you guys heard them? They are not incredibly heavy but totally original to my ears. Must buy this album!

Yep I heard these guys on a mix CD from spinefarm records and while back. I've only heard the one song (same as you) but I like it

Blah, it can't be any -core coz I have the CD!

Anywayz, better not judge it by just one song. The album's quite diverse, if I remember correctly there was like 3-4 fast-gonna-kick-your-ass songs and the rest were very different midpaced and/or more laidback... And I recall the last song (which is the video) being quite boring.

But it's not a bad album! Just very different in ways.

It's all over the map! Not to disparage this in any way.. I can just hear a lot of influences. Among them: Metalcore, Modern Radio Rock (pick any band), Linkin Park, Soilwork. One could spend a lot of time picking them all out, but there are some definate corish moments.

'Last Drop of Innocence' is a great song BTW.

Now that u mentioned it, I do remember there being ONE nu-metalish, or more likely Linkin Parkish, moment! It was in the single song, hmm, was it 2nd or 3rd on the album..? I remember reacting like "oh, fuck! this sounds like Linkin Park! fuuuckk..." But fortunately there wasn't more of those, at least nothing worth a reaction...
