To me this sounds totally different than anything they have done. They seem to be going down the same road Theatre of Tragedy had gone in the later part of their career with industriel/ Euro tinged hard rock. It's not bad per say but i have a feeling that it will turn off and alienate many fans who live and die by metal. The way I see things, Sharon still rocks, so fine by me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caENELmIXvE |

I'm totally gorging myself on Within Temptation now via Grooveshark, never really got into them before. This more than makes up for the new Sirenia being poor. |

I like it myself. Sharon sounds more powerful than ever ![]() Although the cover art is pretty lame. Looks like some cheap game you find at walmart: ![]() |

Great band, saw them once live and Sharon sounds even better live! They did change their sound quit a bit over time. Most will probably disagree with me but i think they succeeded in keeping their core sound. So what's your favorite song and/or album so far ? |

I'm not familiar with Within Temptation either, and this single isn't very impressive IMO, catchy though it may be. However, I'm also going back through the WT archives, and am liking what I'm hearing, namely from The Silent Force and Mother Earth. Definitely won't replace Epica for me anytime soon, but I'll have to pay more attention to this band from now on. |

If you like the Silence Force you'll definitely like the Heart Of Everything |

Sharon has a great voice and the song is decent. This band is enjoyable in spurts, but as Afro said, doesn't compare to Epica. |

That's fine but they could have hired someone to do a better job then a cover that looks like a $9.95 computer game in the bargain bin. But I'm hoping that the music inside is a lot lot better. |

Really digging the new album. It has some nice guitar licks and solos. Just don't expect anything extremely hard or loud though. The album version of their first single is definitely better. here is another video from their newest release. Shot in The Dark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSpo91AX6Yg |

I have to listen to the album a few more times to see if my opinion changes but so far I'm not too crazy about it. My favorite WT is their earlier work (Enter, The Dance, Mother Earth). And I dont think they need to be heavy at all to be good since ME is my favorite album from them and that is even less metal than most of their recent works. |

Although I do like Mother Earth, I prefer The Silence Force and The Heart of Everything style. So it shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone if I say that I really like The Unforgiving. It's catchy, it's symphonic, it's got a great performance by Sharon, it's got the Within Temptation epicness and ambience and the guitar work is more solid than on previous releases. What's there not to like ? This album has been played multiple times over the past month on my iPod and I don't seem to tire of it. |
