Post subject: Xandria - Samples From "India" Online!
PostPosted: Mon Oct 31, 2005 2:45 am
Anyone like this band? I admit that this is very goth metal-pop, but there's something genuine about this band. I love them. I was hooked when I first heard the song "Ravenheart" last year or so! Damn good shit if you want something a bit more "lite."

Anyway, check out http://www.xandria.de/english/media/multimedia.html for a few samples from the new album. The other samples are not working, something about a new German law that I didn't quite understand. "Black Flame" is still working, though, but the rip is crap. You can also find a few MP3s working under the discography section, too, but again, the rips are shite! The video for "Ravenheart" is worth watching, too. Great song!

Yeah! I familiarized myself with them already when the debut came out, but wasn't quite sure if it was good enough to purchase... until when the second album came out and I saw the Ravenheart video! GREAT!! :D I've also heard the soundclips from the new album, sounded good, except one which sounded too familiar...
Hmm, I actually have 2 of their albums, except the 2nd one, gotta get that one too b4 I listen to them! ;)

Too bad you're not impulsive.

 You must have some sort of grudge for this band, or otherwise just don't like gothic-symphonic-power-metal at all... :(

They played really nice goth-pop. I know the first two albums. The last song from the debut (Calyx Virago) is incredible!!! The second album is more like a copy of Within Temptation. I haven't heard India yet, however the song "I'm in love with the darkness" or something...sound great!!! :D

It's a great CD. Heavier than Ravenheart. Hard to find in the US, though. I hate that crap.

I haven't see it here in Poland too... They under German Drakkar or something. They have a really bad distribution as far as I see...

Very bad. The End sells them, though.

If we keep this thread going it will have a 1 year anniversary soon lol.

I like Xandria, I don't like India as much as Ravenheart though. She has great vocals, she's no Tarja or Sharon but definately stands among them, instead of drowning in the sea of female gothic vocalists in the plethora of gothic metal bands cropping up these days. Granted Xandria isn't as big as Epica , but will still be the 4th band I think of if someone asks me to name Gothic Metal in the vein of Nightwish and dare I say Evannesance *ducks*.

Eyesore: I have both releases. I was hooked the first time I heard Lisa's voice. Ravenheart was /is a great song. I liked the slower single " Eversleeping". Lisa looks incredible in the video. I was upset that they didn't make any videos for anything from "India". You're right that Xandria leans more toward a goth/pop kind of sound but I love it. I'm really looking forward to the new CD. :D

Another worthy addition to a conversation. :dio:

Anyway, Raven, they're indeed a great band. I still own nothing by them but the "Eversleeping" CD single. And I just got that CD single like two weeks ago. I know The End sells them, but I always forget to buy them. Haha.

I have Ravenheart and don't care for it. I would give it away to a one lucky eyesore.

I'll buy it cheap, or trade something.

Their latest cd "Salome the seventh seal" is very good prefer it to Within Temptation's latest and it's up there with After Forever's new one.

I quite like Xandria. Middelhauve's voice has a very nice tone. I usually don't like voices like hers (Within Temptation, Leaves Eyes etc) because they tend to be tinny, but she's a notable exception. Eagerly anticipating the new album.
