I gave it a listen .. I like the sound, takes a lot of cues from the Love era, which in retrospect is probably their best album and the easiest sound to mine. They could never make another album as simplistic as Electric, there's just not enough ground left to cover.

Worlds better than Born Into This, although Astbury's voice seems to be sounding a little worse for wear.

EDIT: Aside from 4 or so good tracks .. kinda boring.

/sigh

Reminds me of Lou Reed/Metallica - Lulu, cool music with lackluster vocals. It's a shame as I always thought Ian Astbury was a great vocalist, and the Cult one of the best hard rock bands.

I always considered him to be a great vocalist and he was one of my favorites from the 80's but after giving this album a listen it just doesn't interest me. It just sounds like they fell short of being themselves, (if that makes any sense) I really wanted to like this one...ugh

Prob the band I have seen the most times but not liking the last album, not heard this one yet but not expecting much from it.
