Never quite bought into the hype around this. Some of its good, some of its just exruciating. And what kind of maternal issues does Peter Jackson suffer from, really?

3. Evil Dead 2- Better than the first one, but you may need to see that to set the scene. Probably the most iconic acting performance in horror from Bruce Campbell. The movie revolves around him parodying, but simultaneously becoming even more awesome than any action hero you've ever seen. A lot of slapstick, but at the same time a very grim, creepy atmosphere.

This one I do like, but the first was better IMO. Bruce really does give a masterclass in hurting oneself, though.

4. Zombie Flesh Eaters- Flawed by the mindless plotting and dialogue, but the best zombie makeup ever, and probably the most oppressive and plague ridden ambiance that I've ever seen in a film. The zombie vs shark scene is just... bizarre.

Real actor...in full zombie make up....punching out a live shark!

For me Braindead is just the ultimate slapstick. In the days of music hall people laughed at guys falling over or getting pies in teir faces (Haha I still laugh at that now). But today we laugh at people getting impaled by spoons of rice pudding. Y'know, for the Zombie Shark scene the shark's trainer got ill and couldn't do it? So they just had to get a random extra and say to him "You see that shark in the swimming pool? Go and punch it". Haha... Lucio ist krieg.

really ? :? I thought it was great as in cheap special fx are more fun... certainly not the kind of movie I would put on my top list but better and fresher than most of the horror movies I've seen (I'm not a big horror fan btw...)

NP
Tierra Santa - Sangre de Reyes (average but I find heavy metal in spanish to be quite funny)
UP NEXT
Joni Mitchell - Hejira (classic !)

As a rule I generally dislike horror-comedies. So don't take what I say on the subject too seriously.

I do like horror comedies to an extent, but I don't really like parody. I used to, but then I decided I liked things to be more sincere :D For example, a spoof horror can be funny, but I'd much rather see a really well made non-humourous horror film.

I didnt know what to expect with this since I have never heard of it, but it was like 5 bucks at a used store so I bought it and loved it.

Yes, not bad. And I wasn't expecting the happy ending, either!

I quite enjoyed Hostage, but jeez, can we talk about overkill? (cue smart arse comment: tahts waht teh thrash forum is for lawl) So so so many things all happening at once and drowning each other out so by the end the original plot was nowhere in sight. Still quite good though.
