Awesome film.

Paradise lost and its sequel. Very good, if not frustrating due to the lack of evidence used to convict damien, jason and jesse.

I hated it. Pure lowest common denominator flashy bollocks.

What's the latest on those guys, I heard one was up for Death Row a while back and haven't heard anything else...

1. "Breathtaking" Which part would that be? Would that be hobbit-boy jumping about like a Matrix reject? Would that be a city full of prostitutes, run by them? Would that be the rubbish special effects, that try to make it look like a comic "come alive!!111"? Note - it didn't work in Jumanji, it doesn't work here.

2. "Visually very well done" Ooh, a black and white film. How noir. How old-school. Yeah, and we'll make little bits in colour, like lips, that's a good idea!!!!11.

No. It isn't.

3. "Damn entertaining" For a teenager, maybe. Wow, guns, shooting, a man with lots of cellotape on his face. Wow, that Jessica Alba as a teenage stripper who never takes her clothes off. Hey, nudity!

I like my films with a little depth, thank you. Even drunk this film was less entertaining than drinking my own vomit.

Yawn. So you don't like any films that aren't "deep"? None at all? Stop being such a goth.

Not that I thought this film was all that incredible or anything but it was an example of how to do flashy/trashy well.

Indeed... Some of the greatest directors have consciously valued style over substance. Dario, w00t!

That said, I haven't seen Sin City. Recently though I've been feeling pretty turned off by flms with high production values....

...Such as Anthropophagus the Beast, which I watched the other night. Very enjoyable, ultra-sleazy film about a group of 30 somethings that go on holiday to a Greek island and get eaten by a freaky cannibul dude. Some incredibly dull passages in the first half, but the second has "grim ambiance" aplenty.

Not at all, but the way people talk about it annoys me.

It doesn't deserve more than 5.
