Great review! This is deffinetely one of the most spooky, haunting and epic albums in the history of doom, as for Baker's vocals, it just couldn't be sung any other way! Simply cult, my fave ungol album along with one foot in hell!

Difficult to Cure is a great album. Alcatrazz is a great band and Bonnet can sing his ass off. If you are my age you know you were rocking your ass of to them, if you are kid who cares what you think. I mean really, you use "Holy Terror" for a name, user names inspired by 3rd rate trash bands that shouldn't have gotten past the demo level hardly make me worship your views.

yes and the fact that to you Holy Terror is a third rate thrash metal band shows your ignorance of Thrash metal. I don't care how old you are. I;ve probably listened to more heavy metal than you anyway. Alcatrazz was not as good as you make them out to be. And your opinion of my opinions ranks very low on my scale.....of opinions. That being said...fuck you. Get a life and do try to keep things from getting personal. I used to do that, but I find that it doesnt really advance your argument very much.

It isn't personal, I just gave you my opinion on Alcatrazz and Holy Terror. If you don't like it, don't read it. I am ignorant on thrash, because except for a small minority of bands on a whole the genre was stale, repitive and used up by 86 and I never really gave it another look when all the follow up crap like Holy Terror, Forbidden and Violence came out.

So you can mouth of about Gram Bonnet to your hearts content, but if anyone doesn't like your precious shitty 3RD rate thrash bands they should fuck off? Ok. I will try to limit my replies to people intelligent enought to discuss metal with so I don't upset you anymore with my harsh personal attacks on thrash.

I was the 1rst to criticize Bonnet... the man can't keep in key live. that's why he got fired from Rainbow after only one album... 8)

and I think Alcatrazz were 4th rate... at best :P

And I was the first in defend Bonnet's voice in studio. I have listened Bootlegs live, and sucks.

Alcatrazz is in third division ranking of bands. More important for put light over Yngwie and Vai that for the music they done. And if you listen live albums of Jeff Scott Soto with Malmsteen singing old Alcatrazz songs, the songs shine a lot more that with bonnet voice.

The fact that you think that thrash was used up by '86 is like a brilliant light gleaming in the darkness of confusion that throws illumination onto your utter stupidity.

That having been said, Holy Terror, what Cirth Ungol album should I start off with?

OK, you used the word crap in reference to Forbidden. For that, the penalty is death by repeated kicks to the junk.

Aaron pretty well summed up my sentiment toward your "thrash was used up by '86" comment. I mean, come on dude, what about Kreator, Dark Angel, Sodom!!!

Well I think you should start off with One Foot In Hell. Granted Cirith Ungo albums arent the most complicated, but they really make up for it with the attitude and sheer rockingness. One Foot In Hell is the heaviest and doomiest. SO I'd start with that one. Great soloing I might add. Jerry Fogle was one of the best.

Why do I have to love thrash and treat all the bands like they are untouchable? Forbidden was major label thrash that was 3 years to late and so was vio-lence. EOM.

Kreator and Sodom were always a cut above because they were different and never got boring or cliched, as for Destruction, they haven't had a good album sine Antichrist which was passable. M-16 from Sodom though is one example of an old band that can still make a good thrash album.

I just don't like most thrash!

Again with the Forbidden bashing. Dude, they were on Combat Records, a good label, though hardly a major one. No one says you have to love thrash, its just that fans of the bands you keep pissing on don't appreciate your sentiments too much. Much in the same way you obviously got a bug up your ass about the Gram Bonnet comments.

There's this saying about a pot and a kettle...
