They have a lot of originality to their music, but I definitely hear an At The Gates influence. Half the melodeath bands out there are At The Gates rip offs.

yea but at least some of them improve on the sound (Hi Arsis, Hi Sceptic) rather than just sort of being there...

I think this band is flat out terrible, although I did try out for them as a vocalist. 8)

I actually had never heard them at that point. Remember they put an instrumental track on their website and asked people to record vocals and send them in? I did that. Never heard anything, but I can say that I didn't sing as heavy as the singer they have. I came up with a cool song, though. If I recall, it was an instrumental of a song they'd already recorded, but instead of doing that song I just did my own.

I'll have to look for it.

I'm seeing Arsis in May. SWEEEET!!! Seriously, they are one of the bands that are going to keep melodic death around. Fucking awesome band.

Edit - And I'm seeing Black Dahlia Murder with Cellador later on this month. SWEEEEEEETER!!!

i loved Unhallowed, but i don't like this album at all. it's got one killer song, "A Vulgar Picture", but everything else is average at best.

the lower growling vocals are better than in Unhallowed, the other ones are different but i don't like them any more or less than the old ones.

Miasma sounds better all round than unhallowed, with much better drumming...though I also like the straight forward speed approach of unhallowed.
