This is fully incorrect. The harmful attitude is the one dictating that anyone suggesting deeper psychological or sociological reasons for criminal activity are appeasers, or excuse makers. Where has anyone suggested that gypsy thieves should receive lesser sentences? Or that this behaviour is any more acceptable for them than it is for you or I?

It is perfectly possible to criticize societal attitudes towards gypsies, and also hypothesize about why crime is a problem with them, without encouraging crime itself. The problem comes when any attempts to do so are shouted down by a legion of people making these kinds of accusations.

Why, then, is crime worse amongst gypsies than jews? If we accept that there is no such thing as a genetically inferior ethinicity, then logic says we have to look for other causes.

AAAaargh. I was supposed to be bowing out of this, but no one here is implying that.

It's really a silly argument, as the odds are that most gypsies will be fully integrated into society over the next few years (and I mean more than 3/4, obviously). Ultimately, you can't peg a race down as anything, it's all individual. The fact that most gypsies seem to be criminals doesn't help their cause.

these are not "narrow experiences". i was mugged 2 weeks ago by a black guy, and i don't tihkn that blacks are any worse than any other race. because i know that for every nigger (to me there's a difference between black guys and niggers) there are 10 hard working honest black guys. thing is, i can't say the same thing about gypsies.


also, the whole "nomad" thing isn't what it used to be with them. they don't move around that often now.

I didn't say anything to contradict this either. Things happen for a reason, sure. But "why they steal" does not change the fact that they do steal (and just to be PC enough for you hippies: not all of them, of course!).

Most gypsies aren't really nomadic anymore. There have been gypsies living in Finland for centuries. They go to public schools and get all the same social services as Finnish people. Yet, a working, law-abiding gypsy is still a rarity.

Maybe they'll become integrated into society someday, or maybe not. Until then, i'll just try my best not to get robbed or conned.

You seem to be as blindly fanatical and non-critical about your own beliefs as the racist bigots that you despise.

BTW on the whole gypsies thing, last time they were near my house a huge police raid had to go down to move them fromt he field. They tried to rape a girl, attempted some robberies, tensions got pretty high yadd yadda. Take note at the fact they never actually succeeded at anything. Heh.

LOL, I used to live in a highly Jewish and Protestant Caucasion area, and some "Gypsies" came to town. Above the punch clock where I worked there was a sign...

And I figured it because most of the people who ran the store, and the people working there the longest, were a bunch of dumb bigots. Then I actually met the "people" they were talking about. Slightly more tan than I, their only other notable features were thick mustaches. They'd always pull up while I was in the parking lot, fixing up the mulch stacks, and would offer me 20 bucks to load the whole stack into their pick-up. I figured that it was just cheap construction workers, who assumed my youth (and "obvious desire to screw the system") would benifit them somehow. But, I always said "No." One day, a cashier saw one of these moments, and asked me what they had said. I told her, and her response was, "Fucking Gypsies."

Go figure.
