Damn... this band is growing on me.... Silence is the only album I´ve heard through....I loved the ballads and the last proge song.
"the pearl song" ? and Misplaced were wonderfull experiences.

just relaxing

88/100

Damn. I've been listening to this album ever since it came out here in the unforgiving tundra filled with wild nu metallers and screeching gothboi fangirls, and I can't stop listening to it, damnit.

I'm not going to quote it, but I'm going to say it beats the stuffing out of WHG and comes close to Silence. I love these rock organs and zany bits ("Bells toll all over the town, burn - burn until it's all gone...").

I still can't get into Ain't Your Fairytale, and that along with The Boy Who Wanted To Be A Real Puppet really don't appeal to me that much. The latter would work better if the story was allowed to unfold a little better. They're good, with a few excellent spots, but fall in between everything else.

Liimatainen had better write another song for their next album.

Well, with Ecliptica and this new one I like every single track. That wasn't the case on Silence and Winterheart's Guild. Silence had mostly killer tracks, but a couple were filler. Winterheart's Guild was half filler in my opinion, but I can't call it a "bad" Sonata album because it contains two or three songs that are actually better than anything they'd done previously, like The Cage and Victoria's Secret.

I'd have to say this is their best yet.

Every single SA song is great. I really mean that. Not ONE bad track. Can't wait for the next studio album. should be out late 2006...

That song pisses me of so bad. "The monkey slowly climbed on her back..." Blech.

Reckoning Night is currently the top SA album for me. Wouldn't have thought I'd say this someday.

This album is subpar. They cheated themselves, and sounded more like Blind Guardian or Falconer than Sonata Arctica. Solos were rediculously absent, and that's sudden, considering SA was one of the only bands who could force a solo into EVERY song and still make it worth your time.

70/100

White Pearl, Black Oceans really deserves the credit though.

to KGG: I agree with you about the solos, but i still give the cd more than 70/100. Probably like 90/100

This album is great. Originally I thought it was worse than Winterheart's Guild, but I popped this bitch in before I saw them in concert (months back) and I realized how awesome it is. 80/100 for me.
