According to the new 2006 DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act), backed by the movie/music industry and George Bush admin, piracy can now get you 10 years of jail. For comparison means, selling child pornography or even assaulting someone, gets you 7 years of jail.

People should be allowed to download crap and waste their time without having to worry about 10 years of prison. The latest Nickelback, or whatever, should be punishment enough.

it's stupid, but fact is, if you download the files and get caught, you're nailed. i disagree with this, but i don't see how to get out of 10 years in jail if you get caught.

the record execs must've made some serious donations to get this through...

I love how flawed the RIAA's system of punishment is too, they basically can't win so they punish a few people that they actually do catch in hopes of sacring everyone else out of downloading.
