I feel rabble-roused after reading this story:

http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,1778953,00.html

Quote:
The MPs' report was published as fare rises of up to 11% from next month for First Great Western passengers were revealed.

Thank god I won't be getting the train to work next month, although I feel very deeply for the people who will be. Incidentally, it's less than 6 months since prices last went up by 11%.

Quote:
A spokesman for Virgin Trains said the company had already taken action to simplify its booking system and increase the number of discounted tickets on offer.

They don't fucking get it, do they? It's not the people booking cheap tickets 4 months in advance they need to make things easier for, it's the people that have no choice whatsoever but to get a train everyday just to earn a living. To me it seems their booking system is simple enough: They charge you too much. I wonder how much profit these companies directors are making?

Smash corporate fatcats, and put public services back into the hands of the public! [/commie]

  8) :P

Depends from where to where. Leeds to London on the day is £114, so about 155 euros for about a 2.5 hour journey. Leeds to my home town of Derby is just over 1 hour, and costs £23 (just over 30 euros at a guess)

Leeds to Shipley return (where I work) is £3.75 per day for a 10 minute journey, but I buy a season ticket which is £66 per month.

it still comes off as expensive, the monthly ticket.

insanely high prices, even here it's cheaper.

What happened to Vikie? Someone post some Hubi Meisel news! She can smell it.

I was reading some old post about Hubi Meisel, and it's quite noticeable the chemistry the two of you had. Maybe you should drop her a line, she seemed to like you, and it'd be a shame to let her get away...?

I feel great because today is a holiday here and I feel proud because in 19 May 1919 Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK started the attack against the invading forces, (England, Greece, France, Russia...) and kicked a lot of ass and led the birth of the Turkish Republic. Today is also the birthday of Atatürk, our founding father.

Same here, but now having my brother pretend to like them is infuriating.

Winning Eurovision is no big accomplishment. I was happy for them for about half a second, but I found the news that Fathers For Justice had assaulted the National Lottery draw a hell of a lot cooler (campaign back on, mofos!)

Only thing really funny about Lordi winning was hearing the bemused voice of the Radio 4 Newsreader. :D

I predict:-
1. Terrorizer will waste at least a page on Lordi. If more, I'm writing to complain.
2. Cradle Of Filth'll enter next year. This has opened the floodgates.
