Winning Eurovision is no big accomplishment. I was happy for them for about half a second, but I found the news that Fathers For Justice had assaulted the National Lottery draw a hell of a lot cooler (campaign back on, mofos!)

Only thing really funny about Lordi winning was hearing the bemused voice of the Radio 4 Newsreader. :D

I predict:-
1. Terrorizer will waste at least a page on Lordi. If more, I'm writing to complain.
2. Cradle Of Filth'll enter next year. This has opened the floodgates.

they could enter yeah, but these things don't happen twice, see Lordi's victory as pure luck, that's what i did.

no it hasn't... Lordi won on novelty value. it wouldn't work again next year, no chance.

and a metal eurovision would suck because the winners would always be one of these:
finland
sweden
norway
poland
germany

.....

I fondly imagined Napalm Death going up there, actually, but they'd never do it. Cradle, on the other hand...

I did that with a scathing pissed off review of the newest Annihilator album on metal archives. I just couldn't reproduce that rage so I didn't rewrite it.

Well, I've been rewriting it for the last hour or so. Nearly done...

In Eurovision i would love to see:

France - Gojira
Norway - Enslaved or Arcturus
Finland - Children of Bodom
Britain - Iron maiden, Meads of Asphodel, Napalm Death, Cathedral, and on and on......
Poland - Behemoth
Ukraine - Drudkh

Of course itll never happen, but it would be funny (if not mortifying seeing artists with talent next to pop morons  )

That's the point. Metal artists have more self-respect than that. There is nothing glorious about Eurovision.

Really, really awful. I just made the connection that one of the only gigs I have over the summer is on the same day as England's quarter final if we win group B.

I do find myself in the odd position of hoping we beat T'n'T and Paraguay, and then lose to Sweden. Go Sweden!
