Dear me, Sweden must have been rough on our poor dinosaur.

I think people tend to think race and species are the same thing. We are the same species, yet we have very minor genetic differences that define races. This does not mean one is better than the other, it just means that a certain group evolved certain traits to best suit their original environment. Hence black people have heaps of melanin in their skin to cope with sun exposure that would frazzle a Swede in 60 seconds.

And I also believe that clashes between races are a result of cultural differences rather than physical ones.

Of course you'd say that: you have the brainpan of a stagecoach tilter.

My upbringing was admittedly harsh. Deep down, you know you're jealous. I can crack walnuts with my forehead.

Well, if you're all so certain about races having distinct physical characteristics, what am I? As you can see from my avatar, I've got what you'd call a "Jewish nose," my eyes are very European, the rest of my face is mostly English/German, and I'm built like a peasant.

None of this is reflective of the fact I've got Native American ancestry as well. What am I? Even better, what's my mom? She's as pale as I am (or rather, I'm as pale as she is, and my hair is the color hers used to be before it went grey), but her eyes are the typical Native American shape. So is she white? Native American because of her eyes?

Here's another one: someone with my features and skin color, but whose grandparents were of African descent and whose skin color qualified them as "black." So what is this hypothetical person? Black or white?

See what I mean?

Of course there are gray areas between the races, because race mixing is possible within the human species. So what? Races exist. So do combinations of races.

Whiskey & coke exists. So do Whiskey and Coke.



This is pretty much how i think.



...And i also believe that culture often goes hand in hand with race.

It makes you a good-old fashioned American mutt. Don't fret, most of us are.

No one's taken a stab at my black/white dude question yet. Anyone? Black or white? If he's "black," are we completely ignoring his morphology? If he's "white," are we ignoring his ancestry? Or is all of this just meaningless semantics, because race is what we as a collective society say it is?

You know, two Black parents can produce an Anglo child. Not an albino, but a completely normal looking white kid. It's pretty rare, but it's happened. What that would make the kid, I don't know.

No so rare, a white male mates with a black female (or the other way around), produces a black female. Another white male mates with a black female (or the other way around) and she gives birth to a black son. Black son and black daughter mate and there is 25% chance the result is white.
Sir Wanksalot is right, different species can't mate, but races can. Cultures may clash but races don't. Kayla, your point about being black or white has been disregarded twice by people who say that mixing races is possible. This means you get a mixture, logically. There are dogs with a certain race and dogs which are a mixture of all kinds.

Anyway, I feel a bit shitty. Still got a damn cold. HOWEVER I am going to see Syth tonight so things are lookiing up.

I also got three vials of my precious blood syphoned out this morning to check if my bowels are broken.

Hmmm... I fell ill, but I don't care, I'm just pissed off that I have to tidy my room-and according to my parents if I don't get into a halfway decent college I'm joining the army-not sure if it's true but I went all emo on them.

My chest is itchy. I'm going to the doctors to see if this will kill me.

I feel feverish. Damn. I'm starting to have a sore throat already. And my nose is starting to get runny. It's all symptoms I'm gonna come down with a fever. It's always like that. First the sore throat, then the runny nose, tham WHAM!!! fever. And whenever this happens the only way I can get rid of the fever is by getting a jab on my ass. Well just hope it's a female nurse.
