Well? Last thing I remember reading was RvN taking out on Ken...

That's not cool. If it really had to be moderated, delete all the off topic flame posts. I worked pretty hard on that review so I could get some feedback (thanks to those who left some), and the fact that it turned into World War 9 is not my fault.

I think that if anyone wanted to moderate on the board, he should DEFINITELY not just moderate to cover up his own shit. I didn't know about the Evoken thread until this afternoon, I've read the whole thing and of course your review, and I wanted to comment on it this evening, but I couldn't find it anymore. Maybe RvN's message to Ken made him delete the thread, it was kinda... uhm... True. Maybe I should start calling Ken a fucktard again, since he's really being one.

Misha, please shut up. Kaath told EVERYONE (his words, "I'm telling everyone") that they shouldn't bother applying to be a reviewer because Mike will tell them yes and then leave them hanging. Nothing ANYONE said against me in that thread is true. Kaatharian was out of fucking line and I explained to him why Mike hasn't gotten back to him. He then started his bullshit.

If Kaatharian was so "in the right," tell me why his chances of becoming a reviewer are now ZERO? That's not my decision.

Well, the thread had become something it was not intended to be. Maybe I'll post another review somewhere, as I am generally interested in other people's thoughts.

I've known a lot of self righteous self important fucktards, but you are really carrying the flag of them, you're at the top. "Everything I said is right, everyone who said something negative about me is wrong". You'd expect a man in his 30s to be more mature than that.

I can't be a reviewer now eh? Well, I figured that months ago. All I can say is boo-fucking-hoo.

No, if comprehension was a part of your life you'd understand that I said IN THAT THREAD I was right, and I was. You called out Mike, you told EVERYONE that he would leave them hanging. You keep ignoring that FACT. I explained to you why he hasn't gotten back to you and I wasn't rude about it at all, but you're too selfish and you didn't give a shit so you decided to turn around and talk shit about me and tell me no one likes my reviews, yadda-yadda-yadda. In that thread you were wrong. Stefan was wrong. Zad was wrong. And the other two Johnny Suck Latelys that decided to talk shit without reading were WRONG. Plain and simple.

Mike is a good guy and does a lot for this site, but you're a kid that probably has virtually no responsibility yet in his life and can't fathom why someone wouldn't drop one of the BIGGEST and MOST DIFFICULT things someone does in their life so you could be a goddamn reviewer. Yeah, you weren't out of line, right?

Indeed. Boo-fucking-hoo, that's why you whine about it on the board. And for the record, you were IN until you decided to talk shit. Take that finger, turn it around and point it at yourself, then put it somewhere else.

Discuss.

Yes, I did. Considering that people are considering shutting down the board I think it was necessary.

I didn't realize that a "team" member was going to drag it back to the forefront. Of course, considering he's only reviewing here to plug his own upcoming site, I guess that's no surprise.

What is interesting, ultimately, is that this tension and conflict never stops being perpetuated. Kaath has made a reasonable and based statement, although it was a bit abrasive, yet this was seen as something to rip on rather than something to build off of or see the logic in. One must learn to build off of these things, see the logic and reasoning in them, and attempt not to look at the situation in such an over-testosteronal or stubborn way.

I personally think we should all forgive and forget, and move on in a generally more positive direction for the website. Ken is of utmost importance to the site, being one of the key reviewers, reviewing some of the more uncommon stuff. Kathaarian would be a great addition as an expansion to the reviews of Black Metal. I've gone to other sites and of all I love the layout of this one the most. It would be a waste to see this site go down because of petty arguments over recognition of who the better reviewer is.

Which I did. I gave him an explanation to counter his displeasure. Yes, at the time I just thought he was complaining because Mike didn't get back to him at all, I didn't realize Mike had gave him the nod. So I apologized about being wrong with that. But that doesn't really matter because the reasoning I gave still applied, Mike bought a house, Mike is in the process of moving from NY to CT! I bought a house in December and I still haven't unpacked everything. It's a LOT of work. And Kaath admitted to know Mike was busy. That should have been enough for Kaath to show a little patience. Yet he did not and decided to verbally berate the character of someone who invests a lot of time with this website. Someone's presence, or lack thereof, on this board is not indicative of what they do for the website. The board is NOT metalreviews.com, you know?

I tried to help him, reason with him, he chose to start a flame war by then insulting me. That was unnecessary and pointless.

Yes it was. But what is also pointless is the perpetuation of the entire situation. If Kaath gets out of line, then stop it there and attempt to reach a reasonable solution. If you or anyone else also gets out of line, then the same. It is a sense of stubborness and self-righteousness that plagues situations like these. A craving to get the "last word". It is simply a cycle that appears constantly.

I agree. But when it's three-on-one and the reason is wholly unjust, then a solution is essentially deleting/locking the thread. Of course, if that happens then we find a new thread about the situation somewhere else.

If you recall that Evoken thread, Kaath had effectively said I'M OUT, LATER. It was done then. But then here comes Stefan and Zad. Then that died off. Then came the Johnny Suck Latelys, Define Infinity and RvN. Then the thread was deleted and, you won't believe this, but here we have Misha grabbing the flag and creating a NEW thread to carry on the flame war! Shocking.

I'm a reasonable guy, I really am. I'm a very nice, giving and caring guy, also. But like I've mentioned before, you can't call me an asshole, spit in my face and punch me in the nose and expect me to sit there and walk away. And then when I hit you back you can't sit there and say "YOU STARTED IT!" I don't play those games. Misha started this thread to carry on a flame war, but he'll pretend like he didn't. Pfffft!

On any other messageboard I wouldn't care, I'd move on or simply ignore it. But this was a great messageboard for music discussion, thus I throw a little pride into the mix, as should everyone else. It's a great board, it should be kept that way.

Now, what do you think would happen if I locked this thead?

All well and good, Ken, except one little point: when I applied to be a reviewer, I was also left hanging, and it took a lot of pestering to get Mike to say that they "were keeping the team as it was at the moment". Then a week or so later Kayla and Misha join...

It took a bit of digging, but eventually I was told off-the-record, that a certain member of the team didn't want me on, because I agreed once with Valefor or something equally stupid. I'm past caring, frankly, but 1) I would appreciate being told the truth and 2) people do get left hanging. And the attitude towards the forumites is disgraceful.
