wtf? they know they play cheesy hollywood metal. Don't start bashing Rhapsody. And the singer does not sound anywhere near castrated.

btw, rhapsody was a way better name than rhapsody of fire.

So much Rhapsody hate.. They're not THAT bad. I mean their newest was pretty bad. But they have alot of cool songs in their discog (When Demons Awake, Rain of A Thousand Flames, Emerald Sword, Lord of The Thunder, Holy Thuderforce) There are more, but those are my favs.

I dont think they are great or anything, but I dont think they deserve all this hate.. But oh well, Opinnnniooonnsss.

Rhapsody of Fire is pretty uninspired sounding, but its something I can get used to, its not the worst band name I've heard.

Its not that Rhapsody is terrible, they do have some very good songs (Dawn of Victory, Emerald Sword, Warrior of Ice, Power of the Dragonflame) its that they can release some very crappy songs (Village of Dwarves, basically everything off of Symphony of Enchanted Lands II, and worst of all - Forest of Unicorns).

As for the name change, gay. Nothing else to say about it.

I've never liked them. What Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee said about Edguy and Strato is true of them, absolutely nothing to their music.

Lol at news, that'll larn 'em. Bet Metallica's behind it.

They could have reverted to their original name: Thundercross.
Inserting "of _blank_" after their name seems abit unimaginative.
Soon we'll be hearing "Iron Savior of steel", "Manowar or war" or "Iced Earth of flames". Uhh... anyway, I hope that by some miracle they will have shed a large portion of their 'cheesiness' before their next release. If their next album does not contain growling demons, Luca Turilli or attempts at playing black metal they can call themselves whatever they want.

I don't get why people complain about Rhapsody about being cheesy, I mean they do have the stranglehold on cheesiest power metal band, so why would they give that up?

I read somewhere that the next Rhapsody album will be "more aggressive and direct" and will feature songwriting contributions for the entire band. Which could be good.

And yeah fuck this Rhapsody of Fire nonsense, they're still called Rhapsody as far as i'm concerned.

I like them too. I have to be in the right mood to listen to them, but it's always fun to throw them in every now and then. I would have to say that the Rhapsody music program is what is causing the problem. As far as the new name...not so good. I will still like them, but dang...they were smoking something when they decided rhapsody of fire would be the best name to change to.

I like their first two albums very much.And about the change in name...now they are named like Ring Of Fire, the band fronted by Mark Boals.
