Benfica could sell Simão Sabrosa to Valencia for 16 million € + Marco Di Vaio

considering that Emerson and Cannavaro cost a total of 20 million euros, this is SWEET deal!

Simão is an excellent player and he will be missed, but 16 million is enough to get a decent replacement, and Di Vaio's firepower would be great up front.

Well, Emerson & Cannavaro cost just 20 M€, and Thuran-Zambrotta just 19M€, for the Juventus actual circunstances. To buy so cheap, Benfica has to go to Italy, to fish in Juve, Lazio and Fiore.

I prefer a thousand times Simao to Di Vaio, all depends of what Benfica can buy with these 16M€

they play in different positions.

i doubt we'll get anyone as good as him, but there are a few youngsters here waiting for a chance if we can't find someone to buy. either way, i think our strength this season is in the center - RUI COSTA, Karagounis and Katsouranis, plus Petit and maybe Manuel Fernandes (we'll see) - and not in the wings.

C'mon guys we can't let this die just because the WC is over! The major european leagues are starting soon :)

At the moment I'm watching Sweden getting their asses kicked by Germany (again...).

oh yeah, there are international games coming up. let's see if McLaren's revolution in the english squad was a smart move..

i want to see if Scolari, after being OWNED by Nuno Gomes for the second competition, will finally get his shit together and give him a chance, now that that asshole pauleta retired.

and the Portuguese league starts in two weeks!

Hey, our league started at the end of July!

Slow start for Le Guen's new-look Rangers so far. We're playing some nice stuff but finding it difficult to put chances away. Thomas Buffel has played so so well, but just can't hit the damn target so far!

We'll improve.

BENFICA > Sporting :P

Selling Karagounis is a bad move by Benfica, IMO....

This is one of the worst tackles i've ever seen.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... dro+Mendes

Poor pedro, he's out of hospital now tho.

but on the up side Everton got off to good start this season :D

Edit: watching that again, i've decided that its not even a tackle. He just punched him in the face and knocked him clean out, he only got a yellow card for it to.

You can't even call that a tackle, its just assault.

And god damn your Everton with their pissy injury time equalisers. Blackburn fan? Me?

I hope he gets a ban like duncan fuguson (the fucking legend!! :D ) got for headbutting that guy when he played for rangers. I don't think he'll go to prison tho.

We should of had a penatly in that match anyway, neil just took johnson out completely. We deserved a point i think.

damn right we're beating Celtic, and we'll try to kick Man United out as well (like last season).

Sporting Lisbon drew the short straw, though:
Inter Milan
Bayern Munich
Spartak Moscow

but i hope every Portuguese team makes it at least to the round of 16.

FORÇA BENFICA :dio:
