Taken from Wikipedia:

"Mark David Chapman, murderer of musician John Lennon, was carrying the book [Catcher in the Rye] when he was arrested immediately after the murder and referred to it in his statement to police shortly thereafter.

John Hinckley, Jr., who attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, was also reported to have been obsessed with the book [Catcher in the Rye]."

So far, so good. He's written some great characters revolving around the Drizzt stories.

Lets see: I read:

Offspring by Jack Ketchum - Not the intense, makes you want to kill yourself, I hate the world, crying that The Girl next door (Seriously when I read that I was in a bad mood for two days, and to this day, almost a year later I think of certain passages from that book and it just fucks me up) was but damn fucking good and intense. Rivals the Lost but doesn't touch the Girl Next Door (the most distrubing book of all time). If you all like horror, read Ketchum. Have you seen Wrong Turn the movie? Losely based on Offseason but Offseason owns its ass. Recipes for human jerky and all....... torso rape, you name it, Offseason has it. I spit on your Grave finally upped times 1000x.....Offseason has it, you sick fucks that know what I am talking about, get it, read it.

Conqueror Worms - Brian Keene. Fuck this owns, end of the world Lovecraft inspired shit. Starts raining, never stops, Chuthulu rises from the depths told from the POV of this old dude in West Virgina and few other surviovors. GREAT BOOK for horror fans.

Now Reading - Berzerker - Tim Lebbon. This guy seriously kicks much ass. I read Nature of Balance and Face before and he doesn't dissapoint here. viscreal, sick and surreal. Great writer, read his books.

I just finished Salman Rushdie's The Moor's Last Sigh (finally). It's really good if you want some dense, fairly artsy writing and a cool story. Now I'm readin Empire of the Soul by Paul William Roberts for the 2nd time just because its an insane book.

Hell yeah, Salvatore rules. You have read Dark Elf and Icewind Dale right? The Legacy is a beautiful set of books. Never actually gotten around to the Cleric Quintet myself.
I actually just got comic adaptations from Devils Due of The first two books in dark elf and the first book in the dragonlance chronicles(who could have guessed I'm a fan of those books).

Yep. He is indeed pretty badass. I'm in the middle of Starless Nights right now. I'm reading them in order, so I've read the Dark Elf and Icewind Dale books.

The Cleric Quintet is really good, but the characters just aren't as intriguing as those in the books with Drizzt. Of course, I feel that the kinds of characters in the Drizzt books are very hard to create, they're some of the best I've read. The Cleric Quintet only pales in comparison to those books, but they're indeed some good books without comparing.
