i bought
Elizabeth Kostova - The Historian

a bit slow but interesting. i'm past page 100/600 and something and it is yet to pick up (considering it had "unputdownable" in every other review quote), but hey.

i stopped by Barnes and Noble today and picked up Maddox's Alphabet of Manliness. i read a few pages in the store and was laughing my ass off, i'll start reading it proper after i finish The Historian.

also i read a bit (40 or so pages) from Chuck Palahniuk's Choke and liked it, i think i'll go down there later and get it. it's funny.

Lunar Park - Bret Easton Ellis. Quite the comeback after the at first promising Glamorama turned into a shit fest.

The final Dark Tower. Better than part 6 so far, at least.

my cousin bought two books yesterday and got another free one, and let me pick it. i chose Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson. i started yesterday and it looks pretty cool.

The Historian is dead boring and reminds me why i usualy read a good bit before buying.

lol, you are how old? 12..... I didn't even know they still published that shit. I will admit nerd like devotion to Baldurs Gate and the Eye of the Beholder games for the PC.

Trainspotting - Irvine Welsh, again. Is such a great book. I highly recommend everyone read the following in this order..

Trainspotting
Glue
Porno
Filth

Good shit.

Filth only really gets good in the last 100 pages. Actually it gets bloody terrifying. I'm convinced Welch had no idea what he was writing about when he started the book, other than he the most disgusting person he could think of (that's a masonic, protestant, Hearts supporting policeman that listens to heavy rock, in case anyone was in any doubt what his agendas were  ).

I liked the whole thing, but the end was fucked, also what he did to that girl and her BF they caught with drugs was fucked too. That whole tape worm thing was sick. That was why I was putting it last. Trainspotting and Glue are just damn good books. Porno is awesome if you want to see what happenend to Rents and Sick Boy after Trainspotting.

Of course I am American so I don't know how dead on some of that shit is....

Eat poo, hater! I never read this shit when I was younger. The fantasy shit is all new to me, just started reading it like 2 years ago. I've only read Terry Brooks' books, The Belgariad series by David Eddings and now the Salvatore books.

I was getting sick of everything else I was reading. I needed a change. Now, die.

Trainspotting really is a fantastic book. Porno...well, the problem was that unlike its predecessor it actually, y'know, had a plot. :? The whole thing felt a bit too much like a nostalgia trip, but it was still really good for the most part - I'm glad it focused more on Simon David Williamson than Renton.

I need to get around to reading Glue, I know my brother has a copy of it.

Yeah Glue is like a mix of Porno and Trainspotting. It is cool.

Ooh, the spoiler that's a lie. Good one.

Leeee's on the offensive after I brutalized him all over the board recently.
