i'd like to see a better review of ecliptica. If you're gonna write a paragraph about how good this record is and offer no musical stimulation at all, then you might as well give it a 100/100 score and not 95. or rate it a classic, which i think it deserves now.

Personally I think a lot of old reviews should be removed and redone. Not necessarily for a better score, just because a lot of the early reviews are terrible.

As for Ecliptica being a classic? No. A damn good album, but not a classic.

It's actually been a long time since a "Classic" has been reviewed. I think one should be reviewed next week. Specifically, we NEED some classic Anthrax reviewed on this site.

Some classics I want to write:

Anacrusis - Manic Impressions
Forte - Division
Testament - The Legacy
Life Of Agony - River Runs Red
Korn - Korn

Not kidding.

not a classic? it's become my reference point for pretty much all the power metal i hear otherwise.

Most as much classics as ecliptica.

Life of agony, Korn?

Savatage still needs some more reviews on here. Gutter Ballet and Streets could easily be classics. This site only has 2 reviews out of 12 albums, come on now.

Some other classic albums/bands:

Rush - Hemispheres
King Diamond - Abigail
Killer Dwarfs - Stand Tall (come on where is the Dwarf love?)
Virgin Steele - Marriage of Heaven And Hell albums

Stratovarius - Episode
Theatre of Tragedy - Theatre of Tragedy
Theatre of Tragedy - The Velvet Darkness they fear
Tristania - Widow's Weed --- > not sure if it could be considered classic but I'd certainly love a review

Yes, Ecliptica, while a killer album, did nothing for the scene. It changed nothing. River Runs Red and Korn's self-titled, however, kicked down doors and kicked countless asses, not to mention River Runs Red is considered by many to be the best crossover hardcore/metal album ever, and Korn's debut created an entire genre of music! Classics? Indeed.

I'm not sure if anyone agrees with me, but I thought Scenes from a Memory by Dream Theater was a great CD...I would review it as a classic, but I have no idea about how much it impacted music and such. Whether it's a classic or not, though, it's something I would really like to see reviewed.

Also, you guys need some Testament...a legendary thrash band and basically no reviews. I'd like to see The New Order and The Legacy, which Eyesore says he will review....

What's up, Nate dog? Personally I think Dream Theater's classic album is Images & Words. Sure, they've released some killer albums since, not one bad album in fact, but that album is their classic album.

I'd like to see them all reviewed, to be honest.

Images & Words is definitely a classic--it basically invented progressive metal, at least the way it is today. But, Scenes from a Memory tends to be my favorite Dream Theater album...actually, my favorite album of all time. The songwriting is just incredible on that album, and I thought Mike Portnoy, John Myung, Jordan Ruddess, and James Labrie especially all gave their best performances on Scenes from a Memory. I personally think John Petrucci was best on Train of Thought, but I think he does his best writing (if not technical performance) on Scenes from a Memory. But, even if I just think this CD is really good and it isn't really that good, I'd still like to see it reviewed...

And Testament definitely needs some love. :P

Train Of Thought or Images & Words is my favorite DT album, I've yet to figure out which I like more.

Train of Thought, Scenes from a Memory, and Images and Words are all basically tied for first for me...at times it seems I like one more than the others (right now Scenes from a Memory is my favorite) but they're all definitely great CD's...

Well, Korns debut creted an abortion of genre i think we'd all rather forget, which nullifies any classic status for me.

A statement based purely in ignorance and opinion so it only nullifies its own validity.

I think Tool's more progressive and dark metal than anything else, but there might be some nu metal in there...

I never thought that Tool has much nu-metal in their music. Definitely nothing after Undertow.
