This is an awesome album! The leftover originals kick ass, as do the re-recorded songs. All of the cover tracks are great picks and fit right in with the band's style. This is in your face high energy thrash metal! :dio:

I'm actually surprised they did such a good cover of "December." Only Living Witness are one of my favorite bands; I questioned whether they could turn it into their own song before I heard it. They didn't really stray from the original, however, but they did a damn good job with it. I can't recommend Only Living Witness enough!!

Their cover of "Welcome To The Machine" is also a brilliant cover.

I've only listened to this once and that was a while ago. I remember thinking it was not nearly as good as The War Within. I'll have to listen again.

It's not, but it is good.

it's not as good as TWW. but still good. I just don't really like the guys vocals.

Kind of dissapointing (but its a B sides album, what can you do?) Most of the new songs have the potential to be good and even great, but they're simply too short (the guitar solos are also pretty dissapointing). The re-recordings of Deadworld and This is My Own aren't as good as the originals. However, the covers are just a really excellent and fun time. All in all, 63/100.

Oh, and just to correct a factual mistake in the review: Shadows Fall's first album was Somber Eyes to the Sky, not Of One Blood.

Thanks for pointing that out....I did not know that. I fixed the review in light of that....
