Kill Bill volume one. Waht an overrated piece of garbage. Uma Thurman sucks dick, pussy and shit all at once, and Quientin Tarantino is one of the most overrated fil makers EVER.

I didn't think Kill Bill Part 1 was terrible, but overrated yeah. Part 2 was a lot more enjoyable (I saw that one first and then was disapointed by the first one :\)

Yeah ok, how about you tell us why? He just makes what he likes, if he gets overrated is not his problem is it?

I'd like to know why too :P

Tarantino is one of the few directors to make original movies these days, even though Kill Bill Volume 1 wasn't as good as some people claim it to be, it's still original, really cool and very well written.

Tarantino borrows a lot of his stuff from other movies, but he implements it with his own style, and with a solid script to back it up, he also wrote almost all the movies he's directed. Anyway, Pulp Fiction is rated 9th best movie at IMDb, I can't see how he's overrated.

Another totally overrated film! Good, but comes off like it was written in one night.

I agree, it's way overrated. The script is very amateurish, and personally I think Capote should've won the academy award for best picture.

It is just a simple story about how everything ties in. It didn't need to be deep and the acting was excellant. Especially Don Cheadle who like Sameul L is totally and criminally underrated. Matt Dillon as well.

It did need to be deep. It came off weak and way too convenient. With the message it was trying to get across the film could have been VERY powerful, and should have. Sadly it was trite and endlessly vapid.

Of course its not Tarantino's fault that he's overrated, and he can definitely direct - getting any sort of performance out of the actors he uses raises my respect for him more than pretty much anything else he does. I just think his movies have too much of a writer getting high and being like 'damn it would be cool if i like...made a kung fu movie...but since i'm Tarantino it would have an awesome budget and not be all hokey'.

Kill Bill may well have been a 3 hour film of Tarantino pulling himself off. Fucking self-indulgent movie hack shit that it is.

Anyway, I just saw The Breakup staring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughan. If this movie were human it would look like this;

Which is why if I want something that truely moves me I watch Asian films or maybe certain Euro ones because directors aren't afraid to go to far and they don't pander to your generally dumb ass American movie goer or have to tie everything up in a neat fucking feel good package........but, if i watch an American film I know what I am getting into genrally and expect it so I can usually forgive the last 10 minutes of coping out if the rest is good.

I also watched that movie a few weeks ago. I was not expecting anything interesting or original, more like your average power metal album. I have to say though it's one of the few movies that I sympathised with the woman's point of view instead of the guy's one....

I love that movie, and 90% of the movies produced by Studio Ghibli, mostly the Miyazaki-movies, they're the only anime that I enjoy.

+1 here. I totally love most Studio Ghibli movies, and especially the ones created by Miyazaki!! And I find the word childish totally inappropriate here. It's a common misconception of people when they see nice drawings and pretty animations under a vivid palette to think that it's a childish movie. I think that's the whole majesty of Studio Ghibli's productions, that they create movies that can be enjoyed by both a young kid & his parents (or even the grandparents if they can still see and listen). I felt moved by all of their movies to some degree and whenever I watch one I can feel the child stirring inside of me. Of course I don't expect it to be everybody's cup of tea...

So then you admit that this movie is completely overrated. Thanks for arguing with my original statement only to agree.

The Proposition - Very ugly movie that's like a western but based in Australia. Was it the Nick Cave and the bad seeds Nick Cave that wrote it?

I also watched this tonight, although it was my 3rd time, awesome movie. Though not quite as good as Princess Mononoke, Castle In The Sky, and Spirited Away.

If you meanoverrated by winning in oscar, I would agree with that. I don't think about that stuff when watching movies anyways.

Anyone who hasn't seen Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis
should definately see it. Great sci-fi anime movie , also for adults.
