How odd. I've always considered myself a fan of post-rock meets metal type music, but now that I actually think about it the only band that plays that style for whole albums at a time that I actually like is Neurosis.

actually as a wee lad i thought death metal was "real" and that cannibal corpse were evil child-sacrificing cannibals.
