Taladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Saw this back when it was in theatre, so stoned I couldn't remember much. But I went and bought it today, and man it's funny. Everybody, even me, is saying Borat is movie of the year but this is a good competitor.

Not even close. Borat KO1.

Please god let people have some taste. Borat is funny shit though, but movie of the year? lol, Ricky Bobby was ok, the kids were the best part "I'm going to be all over you like a Spider Monkey" ha ha.

PotC is everything that is wrong with films, I really hated the first one. 2nd didn't see.

I don't really keep track of movies by year but the Michael Winterbottom movie "Tristram Shandy" is probably the funniest I've seen this year, then I'd probably say The Fountain is the best.

speaking of Winterbottom I just watched his movie In This World. It's a very good movie, although kind of depressing, about refugees from Afghanistan trying to get to London. The fake-documentary style that actually made it seem very realistic worked out extremely well.

Eragon

meuh crappy dialog, average acting, crappy character development,
nice special effects for the dragon, story is somewhat interesting but lacks tons of details and depth.

I haven't read the books so I can't judge but my cousin tells me it doesn't follow the book for the most parts.

very average flick.
Dragonheart was a chef-d'oeuvre(masterpiece) compared to this...

The Eragon books are crap. For little kiddies who dream of having a dragon.

If by good books, you mean horrible abominations that only got popular because the author was a teenager when he started writing it and unlike other shitty teenage writers had publishers for parents, then yes.

I avoid fantasy books as much as I avoid charity collectors in the street. Every one is the fucking same; I am Elendar, Son of Ragnor, keeper of the Sword of Fagmar. I was once a farmboy, now I ride the Dragon of Piercing Suns. I buy my milk from the Cornershop of the Seven Jewelled Gates. The Princess of the Marble Tower is skillful with a bow.

Fucking shit.

Yeah, try reading the ones that aren't anything like that.

I am Greb, son of some farmer and now I kill cunts with my sword because the world isn't nice OMG INVADING ARMY BIG BATTLE

Those ones are much better. :)
