I avoid fantasy books as much as I avoid charity collectors in the street. Every one is the fucking same; I am Elendar, Son of Ragnor, keeper of the Sword of Fagmar. I was once a farmboy, now I ride the Dragon of Piercing Suns. I buy my milk from the Cornershop of the Seven Jewelled Gates. The Princess of the Marble Tower is skillful with a bow.

Fucking shit.

The majority of fantasy is like that, yes, but there's a lot of original and great stuff out there too.

I did read Eragon; not Eldest. So perhaps I should have limited my assholeness to that one book, as I don't know if Eldest is any better (though from what I hear, its worse).

I haven't read Eldest yet either, but I enjoyed Eragon. I think if you take it in context it's quite enjoyable. Should it have gotten attention over other more worthy authors? Probably not. But considering it was written by a child I found it entertaining, even if it was too often very typical and convenient.

Drop Dead Gorgeous. Not bad, and anything with Miz Dunst in it is watchable, but really, there's a British film called Confetti that does the mockumentary thing so much better.

Coincidentally I just watched Confetti right now.

Quite pleasant, and full of people I admire on the cast. Sorry, though, the US still has the mockumentary sewn up. Unless you count the Last Horror Movie, which pwns everything in its path.

I saw like almost every Sergio Leone movie in the last 2 weeks. Fucking awesome. Blows away any bullshit movie coming out recently.

Of course that explains why you think Tenacious D is actually funny.
