The title track might be the best hardrock track of all time. This track alone makes the album worth a buy. Unfortunately the rest of the album is more or less pop i would say. However the rest of the tracks are however really good for what they are. I never heard any vocalist sound as magnific as meatloaf on this record.

Oh yes oh yes oh yes.

Couple of crap tracks (All Revved Up, and I'm not too keen on For Crying Out Loud), but everything else is just masterful. I don't know anyone that does this melodramatic even one tenth as well as Meat Loaf. (Queen? Pah!)

Seriously, the new one is actually just as good.

Wow, Meatloaf is popular today.

I've only heard Bat II and parts of III. I'll need to look into this one.

My mother bought me Bat Out of Hell along with my first CD Player for my birthday. I was in grade 5 or so (1992). She didn't know much about my tastes other then I liked rock and just figured that I would like it. It was a excellent choice on her part. I've never heard of Meat Loaf, but this album was truely amazing and there is no question in my mind that this is one of the greatest rock albums ever made. Bat out of Hell was my first CD, and looking back, I can see how this album helped direct my tastes towards metal.

I remember when I first got the album, my friends would ask me who the hell Meat Loaf was. interesting to note that he would release a bombshell that was Bat out of Hell 2 only a few months later, much to my surprise as well.

I'm quite surprised people take this album seriously. Not it's not one of the best slices of OTT pomp rock ever made, but I always thought most people regard it as a guilty pleasure.
