Red Steel is crap, tried it out. Haven't tried CoD3, but all in all the Wii doesn't seem worth it.

Yet. Give it some time. The X Box 360 didn't get into its groove until a few months ago, and PS3.... All systems need time to get some games out.

The PS3 isn't even out here yet, so I wouldn't know. But anyway, there's some assassin game that seems fun, and any sport game should be fun. That should be enough to keep the PS3 high out of the gate.

I think you mean Assassin's Creed, and that game looks awesome. It's also coming out for the 360.

Assassin's Creed does look crazy...like Prince of Persia and Hitman combined.

And Brahm_K, I'm pretty sure the PS3 will have backwards compatibility in Europe...I don't know where you heard that.

Anyways, I beat Resistance: Fall of Man yesterday...great game! The last few levels are amazingly tough; looking forward to a sequel.

Ah, well that sucks for all of you in Europe and Australia...but I don't think it's going to really hurt PS3 that much. Nobody's buying PS3 to play their PS and PS2 games on.

Eh, it certainly helps in the decision making process. People want to play PS and PS2 games, but their systems are breaking down. So, they kill two birds with one stone by buying the PS3. However, whats more likely to piss people off is that Sony promised complete backwards compatability and are going back on their word; plus, Europe has already been screwed over by pricing and delays. That could send a lot of people over to XBox camps or Wii (which it has done in the States, even though Americans get a better deal for their PS3s).

I will eventually own all three. Just like I did with the PS2 X-Box and GameCube. I now have the 360, just need the other two. But the PS3 will be the last one I get.

I am, I will not buy one if it isnt fully backwards compatible. I have a huuuge collection of ps1 and ps2 games, at least 80-100 all together and I only have room for one or two systems on my shelf.

yeah Brahm, those are some excellent 1st/2nd party games on the way. but the problem is 3rd party support, it's all lazy ports and the like, i've had ENOUGH of that shit! and that's when the games actually make it to the console... i remember with the gamecube fans missed out on GTA, PES, the burnout series and a whole bunch of games that were out on the Xbox and PS2. as much as i love Mario and Zelda, i'm not missing out again for those games alone. it's about time Nintendo got their shit together and got some decent 3rd party support.

also, reading the reviews on IGN, the Wii's control system seems almost forced on a few games. why the hell don't developers use that "normal" pad, or is that thing not out yet? on some games it's probably excellent to use the Wii's unique control system, but on others it'd probably be better to just stick with the original system. i don't mind, as long as it beats a clumsy "unique" interface.

I've played one Thief game during the summer... I'm pretty sure it was Thief 3. Very nice atmosphere and requires some thinking and planning (good for me who suck at shooters). Plus there are usually many ways to accomplish the goals of a mission. I liked this game a lot.

Star Control 2.

This game is awesome, I wish they'd make more space RPG/shooters and less WW2 games.

Yea, the concept for the first games was amazing with the third one they just improved the graphics and the overall design.
It's difficult though!

Finished Guitar Hero II on hard, with 4 and 5 star ratings on most songs ,which isn't too bad considering I can't play guitar

Just bought Call of Duty, love the single player. Also bought Cossacks, but for some reason my shitty computer won't run that one. Though it runs the expansion packs for it perfectly. How queer.

Budget games ftw.

I don't understand how World of Warcraft works... I mean if i pay one month worth of gaming and i play like for 2 days, then it would be useless... Or does it work like that?

Well yes. Imagine this: you pay and get a 6-month training card for the gym but you only go for 2 weeks. Your money is pretty much wasted but still you do it. :P
