Just saw "Dead Man" last night. Holy shit this movie is awesome. I actually think it is one of Johnny Depp's best performances. I loved it 9.5/10. Brilliant

That was such a cool movie.

It's to bad Depp makes crap like Pirates II now. What the fuck is that shit?

 Yeah. Although I suppose thats basically just his cash grab because all the other movies he does are pretty cool (or just weird, The Libertine)

I saw "300" yesterday...it was awesome! Some of the best battle scenes ever...I loved the special effects for the scenery.

See it :dio:

Aye aye! Just waiting for it to reach a cinema nearby. But the sad thing is that our local cinema has such a crappy projector that it almost makes the films blurry. But I can't wait for it to reach DVD... oh the dilemma.

300, the book, is a battle scene. I love how people are whining that there's no storyline!

The story was actually pretty good. I actually really dislike most movies where it's all action and no storyline, but the story in 300 was definitely good enough that it wasn't one of those movies.

A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints - I thought this movie was going to be more about Dito returning home to the ghetto and then having some sort of plot start from there. It turns out about 75% of the movie actually based in his childhood, which I thought was kind of disappointing because I've seen a lot of "omg raised in da ghetto" depressing movies and thought this movie would have a more unique take in them. And I wanted moar robert downey jr. It wasn't bad just not amazing either.

6-7/10

The "storyline" in the graphic novel is this:

1. Persians come and tell the Spartans they have a big army and will take them all as slaves.
2. Sparta denies them (kicks the dude in the whole—awesome!).
3. Big battle.
4. The end.

That's the book. Not sure about the movie, though. I guess there's some added stuff that wasn't in the book.

The movie contained all of that plus sort of an expansion on Leonidas' wife at home while she was petitioning to get the whole Spartan army involved. It also had a couple of scenes showing the Persian army corrupting the Spartan mystics and a politician which I don't know if it was in the comic or not.

Saw 300 twice over the weekend. Fuckin' mantastic. Too bad the battle scenes didn't have some Amon Amarth and Ensiferum playing, though the music was still excellent.

The Queen.
Very well made and interesting, but I'm not that impressed Helen Mirren's performance. All she did was to look stale and dull. Some moments for variation, but I want to see more emotions and changes from an actress to deserve and Oscar.
Guess I'm still blown away by everything in Lady Vengeance. That's some acting.

In other words, exactly like the real Queen. No wonder she won the Oscar

Hey, I can play a dead guy! I can lay all still and do nothing, just like I was dead. Does that mean I get the Oscar?
I see your point, but I don't think it should go to the person that imitates someone the best, but to the actress that makes the best and most memorable performance. I personally won't remember anything special about this.

300

Great movie, very uplifting in a way only a war film can be.

I thought Kevin Spacey's dying scene in LA Confidential was some really impressive acting, just because you can tell the exact moment his character died and its like "but its an actor omg"

....carry on

The Number 23 - 8/10 Jim Carrey really is a good actor. This movie is obviously absurd, but its really fun and had me watching to the end never wondering when it'll end.

Stranger than Fiction - Good movie, but it totally sold out on the ending. Will Farrel actually managed not to annoy me in this one.

Stupid men.
I was invited to see 300 with my entourage of male friends. THEN, I was UN-invited to see it. Because they decided that it would only be the manliest of men to see this film.

I'm manly enough. In a having a vagina sort of way...

Anyway, I want to see 300! :lame:
