I've been listening to a bit of classical lately, so this sounds pretty good! Nice short, sharp review Misha :)

btw, I did not know any of the references you listed :P

I like to think that I'm pretty open minded when it comes to all types of music. I sampled some of the tracks. This is pretty sad and gloomy stuff. I get the impression one has to be in a dark state of mind to have to listen to this. It sounds like it could be part of a soundtrack to some Japanese Horror movie by director Takashi Miike. I don't feel a review of this sort of stuff really fits the Metal Reviews genre's we would normally review. The only things I could remotely relate to anything metal are visions of the soft parts that Opeth or Evoken might use. I'm also pissed that this review has more replies than my Boston classic! (just kidding of course!)

Yeah, it doesn't have anything to do with metal.
Samples can't catch the mood of the album in any way, but this one comes pretty close:

If you, being a metalhead, like Eric Satie and are a bit open to ambient soundscapes, then it can be a very pleasant album to listen to on a rainy evening. I agree you have to be in the right mood for this.

I like this one,and I'd agree with the review on which are probably the best tracks. Not sure I'd give it quite that high a score, but if it sounds even remotely interesting to you, be sure to check it out.
