you know what, it is funny but I like Troy as much as I do Gladiator. The battle between Hector and Achilles is an all timer.

Bizarre fact: A friend of mine's father produced a film starring the big hammer man from Troy

Saw 300 last night. Damn I hate growing up sometimes. I know I would have loved it about 5 years ago, but I just can't like a pointless, cliché filled movie anymore, despite how beautiful or manly it is. It fails in so many ways where films like Braveheart and Gladiator comes out shining. :lame:

horrible movie

:omfg: Blasphemy!

Welcome to the world of grownups, Zeth! :dio:

Oh and anyone that liked "Gladiator" for the period more than the battle scenes should check out "Rome", because that show did everything but the battle scenes much better than the movie did.

Thanks... I guess.

Yes this thread has been nothing but a roaming Rome parade for the last pages or so. I really need to see it.

So we're watching a pirated copy of 300 in my history class.
I actually don't really like it. As opposed to well, the entire population.

I didn't like it either, the sparta leader's guy's teeth being pearly white totally ruined all the battle cries... and it was too much like snakes on a plane in that it was stupid for the sake of stupid without being funny (it harder purtier visuals than snakes though, i'll give it that)

Judging from people I've spoken to about 300, there are pretty much two responses; either "fucking awesome" or "fucking shit".

I really gotta cut down on my swearing.

the thing that bugs me the most is probably that it's a scottish guy that plays the Spartan king...
And it's 100% apparent.
bugs the crap out of me.

And that the movie is really like an hour long, without the slow-mo ever half second.

I saw Redline, Borat, and Disturbia all in the last two days

Borat was very funny, Disturbia was a lot better than I thought it was going to be, and Redline was pretty much crap...which was about what I expected.

I agree with you on that, but nonetheless it was still a cheap thriller. Shia whatever that guy's name is acting was pretty good, definitely better than I expected.

I just saw The excorcist: the begining. I thought it was ok , at times it was great, but them we get to the fight scene.

Why god, did they make that whole fight in the caves so incredibly bad.

and i thought you could not become a priest again if you left ?

Akira Kurosawa's Kagemusha, great flick and great way to get acustomed with japanese life in the medival times. The story is very interesting although the listener should know a little Japanese history to understand the story that is going on, which wasn't much of a problem for me.

I'm a great fan of Japanese culture and especially anything that talks about feudal Japan and it's Samurai.

I'll eventually get to watch other Kurosawa classics such as Ran, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo and it's sequel.
