B/c that isn't good fashion, you just look like a homo. You're obsessed with yourself man.

And many people would say similar things about your/our taste in metal. Yet you still might be hard-pressed to believe that their appreciation of Britney Spears is on par with yours of Blind Guardian. The situation here is similar for me.

no offense, but i don't think you can compare fashion with art forms, weither being paintings, music etc (not all music should be considered art, though) Of course, i know there's some gay guy in france who'd say that fashion is art too, but i strongly disagree, unless we're talking about clothings based on culture and traditions perhaps. Art = Deep, Fashion = Superficial, so i don't think you can say it's the same. But no offense, everybody needs clothes on their body so they buy what's avaible. Some ppl would say i sold out too (some days i just look like human garbage, though) - i refuse to buy ugly clothes just for the sake of being ugly or buy used cloths some one else has farted and fucked in.. i refuse to so almost as much as i refuse to buy cloths in the first place, i hate to buy new cloths.

Some art is, but not necessarily. Lyrically, almost all music is shit, even that which we listen to. So mostly, it comes from whatever emotions the tone of the song inspires. Clothes, too, I believe radiate their own aura, even if less extremely.

Being "deep" is for philosophers more than artists. Most artists are not very objective. Perhaps some guy with a Che shirt might even argue that his shirt has "deep meaning." I would probably roll my eyes in response mind you. But most people look to the aesthetics regarding art anyway, because that's what distinguishes it from non-art. If you want substance, read scholarly writing, or just sit down and think. Art is an emotion-riddled, and generally horrible, place to recieve any sort of intellectual enlightenment.

you shouldn't put too into my difinition of "deep". It doesn't need to be philosophical, it can also be political or emotions. A shirt can be deep in this context as well, but not nearly as powerful. But fashion itself cannot. Objectivness is of less importance, imo. Even philosophers can be subjective.. so..
I agree with you that art is perhaps a horrible place to recieve any sort of intellectual enlightenment (unless you are a stupid teenager), since it requires that you have been educated in some way or another to understand it in the first place. But it can still be intellectual stimulating, and even if it doesn't have lyrics it can still be deep.... and now... i really can't see the connection between my answer and what this was about in the first place :D

btw.. despite that i laughed at MetalNess comment, i don't think you look like a homo. First of all, your cloth is highly untrendy in my country, second of all, it's trendy to look gay/metrosexual in my country - a mix between Rocky's classical training suit and backy hip hop pants, stupid spiky hair in the back and a girly figure - a clear invitation to get fucked in the arse. You look more like a guy who could smash you country-guitar in the face of these boys.

If music is art, yet fashion is not, then how come that fashion design education programs are nearly without any exception located at artschools, where it is a direction to be taken after a basic education in art? I personally think that little music is really art, logically following, little fashion is art, but it's often more artistic than music. Making music is often not a matter of artistic sense, while fashion is. Creativity sure plays a role, but it's often musicallity that takes the front seat. I'm sorry to say, but a lot of you (excluding jason) have no clue about style, just as a lot of fashion homos have no clue about music. Ofcourse that's merely based on a very few photos I've seen in this thread. Now you can tell me I'm gay because I buy 70 dollar shirts if I want to.

bla bla :D ... being creative is not the same as being artistic, at least not according to my difinition of art. Trendy cloth fashion is all about the visual, there's no philosophical, cultural, political, historical meaning or anything to it, there's nothing to think about, only that trendy clothes milks ppl for all their money since it changes each year. Sure, fashion cloths can express your status in sociaty and how cool you are... just like music can, of course.

you are, of course, more than welcome to tell me how a 70 dollar shirt has any artistic value other than being fancy

I wouldn't compare my taste in fashion to my taste in music or movies because my taste in fashion is hugely (maybe entirely) influenced by people around me while with music (and movies to a lesser extent) I'm generally alone when I'm listening to it :P

I would consider an interest in fashion a similar thing to an interest in music or movies though. You've got some people who actively look for the right clothes and some people who'll just wear whats convenient, just like in music you've got people who'll spend hours finding obscure bands and some people who just listen to whats there.

Hey Misha, why don't you fuck right the fuck off? A "troll" would be one that consistently goes out of his way to talk shit to or about someone. That, my fagolicious friend, would be you.

It gets much too hot in Tennessee for me to even consider wearing a shirt unless I absolutely have to. Global warming isn't making it much better.

Fuck you Henry Ford.
