Offline for the moment since Atari messed things up with some versions and many people can't get online.

i must be the only male in Europe who's not into PES. everyone is completely obsessed by the game, though.
two things really piss me off about it:
- Shooting: some shots have the bar completely full yet come off perfect, others aren't even half full and go out of the stadium, and all in all the shot power is WAY too sensitive.
- Generally moving around: the game just makes you do too much stuff. my hands hurt and sweat after just 20 minutes of PES. the horribly uncomfortable PS2 controller doesn't help either.

like i said, everyone here is obsessed by PES, you literally can't play anything else with your friends. i'm sorry but there are tons of games that are much better, a good example being Mario Kart. but of course since "nintendo is for kids" no one plays that. newbies would rather have their asses kicked for 3 hours on PES than even give a simpler, generally more fun-for-everyone game a try.

This is the first soccer game i've played in ages (except for italia 90 on the sega megadrive  )
So I cannot compare it to another soccer game.
I also love first persoon shooters like Unreal, Quake, Half Life etc..

damn, i'm gameless.

after 7 seasons at PSV Eindhoven, resulting in:
Domestic:
- 7 champs.
- 6 cups
- 6 supercups
European:
- 1 uefa cup
- 4 champ. leagues (lost 1 final)
- 4 supercups

and signing players like Gabriel Batistuta, Nedved, Crespo, Rui Costa, Roberto Baggio and Cannavaro, i got tired. most of the above had retired and it's no fun (imo) to play with a bunch of computer-generated players.

My girlfriend and I have been playing SSX Tricky (for PS2) and Wave Race: Blue Storm (for Game Cube) a lot together. SSX Tricky, in particular, is a fun multiplayer game.

Wave Race is cool but the presentation comes off as so amateurish, even for an early gamecube game. jolly good fun though.

have you played Sega Soccer Slam, by any chance?

Totally agreed. Its presentation really would've benefited from a little more flash. The game also has a very steep learning curve. Even now, I still frequently wipeout and find myself running through the sand when playing. Even in the Dolphin Park course.

No, I haven't. I've heard it's a pretty fun game though. Recommended?

yeah the game can be a bit unforgiving sometimes, one wipeout can fuck up an entire race..

as for SSS, well i love it. it's 3-on-3 footie with stereotypical characters, involving much punching and shots right out of that "shaolin football" movie. good multiplayer.
it got a good review at IGN (8 point something), but the sales were rather disappointing, as far as i know.

Have any of you ever played Midway Arcade Treasures 3? Hydro Thunder, San Francisco Rush 2049 (both of which are actually the Dreamcast versions rather than the arcade versions) and San Francisco Rush: The Rock are still awesome games even after all those years.

I have the first one on the Sega Dreamcast. It's a bit too easy, but lots of fun.

Played through Final Fight in it's entirety, mostly to see the dude who looks a bit like King Diamond.

Burnout 3: Takedown. The soundtrack (with the exception of a couple songs) is pretty lame, but otherwise, great game.

By the way, as I mentioned before, my girlfriend's getting into video games now and Racing games are her thing. I was wondering what everybody thinks of these two games:

F-Zero GX (GameCube)
Need For Speed Underground (PS2)

Both I plan on buying used sometime this summer.
