Children of Men. Best movie I've seen in a long time.

I saw the Departed again, still good. And it's cool seeing it with two other people who have never seen it. When Leo got shot they had to rewind it to make sure it actually happened. I also watched Cabin Fever, I think Eli Roth's movies would be better if he got people who could actually act in them. But this still has one of my favourite movie moments. When the guy is playing the harmonica and gets hit in the face with the guitar and we swallows the harmonica.

Friday Night Lights - I didn't like it much. It was fairly predictable, though it had a few good moments. I'm not big on American football movies.

Saving Private Ryan - this was the second time I've seen, the last was three years ago. Still one of, if not the, most powerful movies I have ever seen. The D-Day scene is horrific.

That movie is so great. It really fucks you up. It'd make the biggest pothead stop smoking.

Th characters spiral decent to "hell" is quite disturbing. Very powerful movie! it also has some quite disturbing music to go with it.

Yeah I had the same thing when I first saw it. I'm still wondering what I'll think of it the second time but haven't gotten around to it.

Music & Lyrics - Wasn't that good. Hugh Grant still can't act, Drew Barrymore is still annoying, and bloody hell, but Britney-clones and 80's synth-pop are the two most horrific things that ever happened to music.

Winter Passing - nice little movie about a depressed city girl "finding herself" by making reparations with her eccentric dad and the people who live with him.

Blood Diamond - Good film, could've been better politically-wise, but DiCaprio's come along a ways since everyone hated him for being in Titanic...

Yeah that was a better movie than I expected. DiCaprio has been doing good movies lately and has improved massively. I thought he was a fag on Titanic.

I liked them. They were very stupid, but still enjoyable. You can't say the part when the girls get in the car accident and the camera is inside the car when they get hit isn't cool.

Yeah, I thought the point was they were a throwback to exploitation, 'stupid' films?

The Good Shepherd - Long but good film about the early days of the CIA. Robert DeNiro directs, and it had JOE PESCI in it!!!!! He's gotten old.

The Fantastic 4 and the Silver Surfer.

It isn't bad when taken for what it is. Strictly good as a comic book movie and not even one of the better of the bunch but definitely better than Ghost Rider and the first F4 movie. The movie just seemed like it set its aspirations too high and just followed through half ass.

Fantastic Four

Just a mediocre movie. Nothing great. Superheroes getting endorsements? Fuck, that's lame. I remember the lamest Batman was when George Clooney played the dark knight. Batman actually had his own personal credit card. Somebody, kill all the directors who want to bring comic heroes to the silver screen.

It's all in the execution really. Fantastic Four sucks because the actors they got to play the characters couldn't be more off-base. I damn sure don't buy the guy who plays Reed Richards being a scientific genius, and having a midget like Micheal Chiklis play the Thing is just bad casting. When the Invisible Girl is the same height as the Thing you've got a problem.

OTOH, movies like Batman Begins and Superman Returns where pretty much spot on in their characterizations and are about as close to the source material as you're ever going to get in a live action movie. The first two X-Men movies were pretty good in keeping the spirit of the comic books. The third one was okay, but there was just way too many subplots running through it to keep track of. Spider-Man was going along pretty decently until they completely jumped the shark with the third movie.

I hear Robert Downey Jr. will be playing Tony Stark in a live action iron Man movie, and I look forward to that. The preliminary shots of the suit look pretty badass.

Fantastic Four sucks because the Fantastic Four suck. Give me War Machine over those chumps any day.
