I guess I also liked him in The Truman show.

Btw Zad, I know you hate Jim Carey.

Heh. The Truman Show wasn't dreadful, although it was nowhere near as good as people say it is. Got Man On The Moon out the other night, am waiting to see that. I like Jim Carey when he's actually acting instead of being goofy - he was pretty good in Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

RW: Scream. Not bad, kept me guessing.

Just watched Surf's Up. Not a really interesting show. Mediocre plot, that's about it. But the graphics were cool.

Stranger Than Fiction. It was strangely good. The ending had me leaning towards the TV in anticipation.

I plan on going seeing Hot Fuzz tomorrow night. Any comments?

Yeah I liked stranger than fiction. I've heard Hot Fuzz is better than Shaun of the Dead, which should make it the most hilarious movie ever by my calculations

Little Children - It's weird seeing the subject matter in this movie handled in a Hollywood-way. It was well done and unintentionally hilarious in a black comedy sorta way.

Hot Fuzz shall not dissapoint if you like that kind of humor. It beats out any other movie I've seen this year, comedy or not.

Hot Fuzz is the best movie of 2007. I don't think anything can change my opinion of that.

Anyway: Children of Men. Good movie. The action scenes were fantastic.

It's a lot better than Shaun Of The Dead. I've never much cared for Shaun Of The Dead, to be honest, I thought when it all goes horribly tits-up at the end didn't mesh too well with the vibe of the rest of the movie

Reno 911: Miama! again, still stupid and still funny. But then I wanted to watch something really funny so I put on Airplane! I don't care what anyone says, this is the funniest movie of all time. If you havn't seen it do yourself a favor and do so. It's 1 hour and 27 minutes of the stupidest shit you will ever see, and the writer went on to write for the Simpsons.

The scenes with Shatner in Airplane 2: The Sequel are some of the funniest shit ever.

Shh-shh

Don't give me that bleeding heart crap Stryker! We've all got out lights, blinking and beeping and flashing. I have literally got a thousand lights on the panel in front of me blinking and beeping and flashing and beeping and blinking..... etc

We don't have a bridge sir, just a tower.
No bridge....? Why the hell aren't I informed of these things!?!

And the bit where he comes out from behind the door we all thought was a screen...

 I havn't seen number 2 in so long, but you inspired me. I love in the first one when Lesllie Nielson continuously opens the door to the cockpit and tells them that everybody is proud and they are all counting on them. The funniest part of Scary Movie 3 is when he does that.

Hot Fuzz was beautiful in its absurdity.

After seeing that in the theater, I rented The Fountain. Wow. Darren Aronofsky rapes my brain once again. The imagery was beautiful. I'm kind of disappointed because I didn't grasp the ending. I'll have to watch it again.

Pi was blatant with its twist. The Fountain seemed kind of elusive but that may just be because I'm really tired right now.

Or because it was overrated tosh?

Watched that Tenacious D film. It was good from the moment the fat kid started pretending to sing until the moment Dio left the screen. It was complete and utter shit from then on.

just saw the season 3 finale for Lost.

sometimes the show drags on a bit and they seem to want to make us forget all the questions they raised in the beginning by raising even more questions, but all in all it's a good show.

I'm partway into Season 2, and it's a massive step-up compared to the first season. Ana Lucia! Kate! Claire! Sayid! Sawyer!

Plus, watched Man On The Moon last night. Great film, the first time Carey's twattery has fit perfectly, and decent supporting cast (Paul Giamatti! Danny DeVito  Courtney Love :lame: ).

I got right into season 1 of Lost, up until about 3/4 the way into it. That was when I heard John Cleese from Life of Brian say, "He's making it up as he goes along!". The shit season finale simply confirmed this view.

Yeah, I was really excited back when the first season of Lost was airing, even with all the fillers. The second season was just packed with fillers and I stopped watching after the second season finale, it just wasn't worth it.

I heard they're gonna make like 3-4 more seasons of it, and they're basically just winging it now, there's really no substance left in the show anymore.

Another show that I used to love was Prison Break, until they aired the pretty shitty second season. The first season was really structured, but just like Lost they didn't prepare anything for the second season.

Yeah the first season was all "HOLY SHIT SOMETHING IS KNOCKING THE WHOLE FOREST DOWN!" mysterious and stuff but then that was lost but other qualities remained. I think the success of the show lies on managing to keep a bit of suspense every episode and the characters being very likeable.

Prison Break's 1st season was really good, the second not so much but still good to watch. the season 2 finale was kind of disappoint, though.

the first part of Lost season 3 was full of filler, but they toned it down for the rest of the season. sometimes it made me want to shout "WHY DON'T YOU JUST ASK THEM WTF THEY'RE DOING ON THE ISLAND?!"

the thing with these shows is that often the initial deal is for 1-2 seasons, and that's how they prepare, then people order more.
Lost is trying to milk the story for all it's worth, though.

EDIT - how they write LOST: http://www.superdeluxe.com/sd/contentDe ... FAFE1B8CD6
