Yeah the first season was all "HOLY SHIT SOMETHING IS KNOCKING THE WHOLE FOREST DOWN!" mysterious and stuff but then that was lost but other qualities remained. I think the success of the show lies on managing to keep a bit of suspense every episode and the characters being very likeable.

That's really what saves Lost, the strength of the characters, and the fact that they even (potential spoiler for n00bs) make Jin from a fascistic bastard to a heroic Romeo. The acting's pretty good for a buncha nobodys, although it's a pity they have to represent the one Brit on the island with that annoying twat from Rings.

Just watched - The Illusionist. Hollywood pap made good with arty shooting and a great cast. Although Jessica Biel doesn't half come over thick on the 'making of', bless.

Metamorphosis - Bugs are so fucking cool. I can see why I was obsessed with ants when I was younger.

Does it still have the 80s metal theme song, sung by some Dio rip-off like the first movie?

That movie made me discover Michael Winterbottom, In This World is amazing... I still need to see code 46 though

With Tim Robbins? I didn't think that was such a good one, although Samantha Morton's a great actress. Enduring Love?

actually i thought it was very good, except for that bit where Keira Knightley delivers the corny and cliché "motivation speech". seriously, writers have to cut that shit out. i wonder how an actor feels delivering such a corny speech.

Code 46 was alright. Nothing special but definitely worth a watch.

Getting ready to watch Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon.

Behind the Mask 7/10.

Breaks down the slasher genre in a humorous way with some decent cameos from the horror classics. The only thing bad about is Leslie Vernon's slasher costume was lame and Leslie Vernon reminded me of Dane Cook.

Maiden Voyage

It was on TV yesterday so I sat down and watched it. That was the biggest mistake of my day.

Nah, but it had Linkin Park during the credits :lame: .
Plus it still incorporated the "ork ik chick" sound effect of them transforming (yet rather inconsistently), which was :dio: .

The awesome bits of Transformers:
Megan Fox.
Optimus Prime.
Half of the robot action sequences where you can follow what's going on.
Megan Fox's boobs.
It was piss-funny in places (intentionally).
The acting for the most part was pretty good.
Non-close up shots of the transformers.
Blackout (the Decepticon chopper) is KICK ARSE!
Pretty cool story.
A transforming vending machine. Look out for it during the final street battle sequence. :dio:
The world's coolest transformer. You will see him when the scientists point the Allspark radiation at a mobile phone. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

The lame bits of Transformers:
The other half of the robot action sequences. Take two transformers toys and stick them in a spin dryer. Stick your face as close to the glass as possible so you get an extreme close up. That is a transformers fight.
The design of the transformers. Waaaaaaaaaaay over the top. Too much shit going on all over their bodies and faces. It becomes distracting, and you can never get a real feel for what they look like (Frenzy is a perfect example).
Megatron does not have his arm cannon (and he is that steel wool looking thing I posted a while ago).
The transformers fire (mostly) projectile weapons rather than lasers. Boo!
Oh yeah, here's some Decepticons at the last minute. We almost forgot about them.
They could have easily chopped off an 3/4 of an hour. The whole military thing for the most part is a waste of time.

Edit: Blackout, not Barricade.

Harsh Times 6/10

Really opens your eyes to the possible shitstorm within and awaiting the troops coming back from the Middle East.

Killing Zoe - Old-ish French bank-heist thing. Pretty good.

Live Free, or Die Hard - The stereotypical summer action blockbuster. Tons of great fighting/explosions, and tons of corny one-liners and flat acting. I have to admit though, the way Bruce Willis gets out of his final seemingly impossible sticky situation was unexpected.

Transformers related question: (I didn't watch it that much, being a more of a Power Rangers fan)

could people actually ride around in Optimus Prime?

The Aristocats and The Departed.

The Departed is awesome and actually captivating. The end made it more Tarantino than Scorsese. Dicaprio was actually cool for once and Damon should've been arrested.

I thought it was kind of implied that that happened to Damon since the girl knew everything.

The Dead Girl - depressing movie although I was expecting the last person's story to be some sort of climax but it was kind of disappointing. Still pretty good though.
